Asus G14 WQHD 60hz Experience/Review

Hi,

I’m currently looking for a new gaming laptop and it seems the G14 is one of the best options out at the moment. However, it does seem that the model we have in Australia with the better GPUs only contain the WQHD 60hz monitor. From a lot of the comments I’ve read online it seems to be fairly negative on this monitor (relative to a FHD 120hz option).

Can anyone comment on their experience with this monitor and the impact on gaming? I’d mostly be looking to play COD MW, Valorant, LoL.

The 1660ti model is the one I would probably go for, I’m not sure the higher price for the 2060 model warrants the incremental performance improvement.

I would most likely connect this to a monitor when playing at home, however, it’s nice to have the option to play on the go and also do productivity work when travelling.

Any comments or other recommendations are appreciated! Thanks.

    Wouldn't recommend buying a G14 anyway right now unless you can get it on a good sale. The refresh is going to announced in a couple days. Might fix some of the issues with the precious model like the sub par display for gaming. At the very least will have improved performance

      Thanks, yeah I was thinking of waiting to see what’s announced at CES next week. It might trigger some sales which would hopefully be at sub $2,000 prices.

      At lower price, it might make the WQHD easier to swallow.

        sub $2000?

        It went down to $1612 a few months back. I really wanted to pull the trigger back then but waiting to hit sub $1500, but it might won't happen even when newer versions are released
