Homepod Minis Are Back in Stock in Officeworks (Online Only)

Not a deal really as they’re full price but if you’ve been wanting one and don’t want to wait a month or more ordering from Apple directly, Officeworks is an option. It’s online only but depending where you are you may be able to get next day delivery or click and collect within a few days.

Everywhere else I’ve looked still says unavailable or has a price increase.

As YellowDieselGolf said, JB HiFi may have them in your nearest store too.

    Jb has them too.

    • Thanks! Everytime I check it just says unavailable online and has always said the same for my store. Now it says available in store so I cancelled the officeworks one (delivery is a week away) and am going to go buy from JB. Plus, I can use discounted gift cards for JB.

  • Thanks for the heads-up. Grabbed one.

  • Are they really worth the chase?

    • APPLE

    • All depends on what you use it for. I’m using it to play music from my synology nas, and controlling it using home assistant. Also trying to set it so that if the home security system is triggered, it plays a siren sound really loudly.

  • How are you using it to play from NAS?
Also, do we have HA plug in to detect home pods?

Synology NAS has Airplay support. Audio Station automatically picks up the homepods existence and shows it as a possible player. Siri can’t change the song on it though so I’ll need to set something else up for Hey Siri control. Audio station is a bit slow with accepting new commands, but it works without my having to pay for Apple Music subscription, so I’ll deal with it.
Unfortunately HA can’t do anything to control the HomePod. But audio station has a web api, so I’ll be using shell command services to control it. I do the same to control music on my MacBook.
I’ve got the basics sorted out to work, just figuring out how I’m going to actually use it on HA end. Maybe input select for playlist and actions/commands, but actions shown as buttons in Lovelace.
