Do You Keep Xiaomi Roborock S5 Max Mop Pad Attached?

Hi All

I have recently bought s5 Max robot vacuum and was wondering if you keep the mopping pad attached to the vacuum all the time or if you attach it only when you want the robot to mop the certain area? I have living area with mix of carpet and tiles and wondering should I attach it only when mopping is required? Also, how frequently you wash the mopping pad.

  I keep mopping pad and water unit attached.
  I've setup the room layout to not use any water on the carpeted areas. I'm not sure if this works or not as it looks like the mop unit still brushes the carpet, but I cant feel any water.
  I've set unit up to vacuum/mop every 2nd day
  I probs clean the mop pad every week.

  Thanks however I still think that carpet can get slightly wet with mop pad rubbing against them

  I am pretty sure the instructions state to take it off when not in use. That way it can dry out and not get mouldy, being constantly damp.

  Also we do find that the carpet can get a little damp in patches if you don’t set it to do the carpeted areas first and then hard surfaces second.

  I usually wash the pad after each use and allow it to dry, then reattach. It doesn’t take long to dry in the sun.
  I generally select to do the carpet area first, then do the tile area separately.
