[PC] Doom (2016) - $0.95 @ EB Games (in Store Only)

1450

Picked this up for $5 before Christmas, now less than a dollar. Seems quite a few stores have in stock (mainly regional areas) but can't C&C.

    Great price for Doom.

I assume it uses the Bethesda Game Launcher?

    • That or steam.

    • +1

My guess would be Steam, this game came out before the launcher was really getting pushed from memory.

Steam key, on the manual inside. Just got it.

I wonder who loses money when a game sells for less than a 7eleven coffee.

    • +10

      GameStop shareholders.

    • +1

EB would have already purchased their DOOM stock a while ago, they could giveaway the game to drive foot traffic but they basically are already doing this which benefits the 7Eleven close to the EB Stores. But alas this game (profanity) rocks.

      They never lose money.

    • Got 4 games for $2.84, honestly if the games aren't any good I'll just keep it for the case.

Some may argue Doom 2016 is better than Doom Eternal, I think I'm in that camp although both are excellent releases

    • How are they even comparable?

      • ?

        • +1

Er, i have no idea, but I've totally misread your message. Sorry

  • +10

I'd buy that for (less than) a dollar! :D

  • +2

All these deals have limited stock and you cannot order them online…

  • If only I had an ODD.

    • +1

I don't think you need the DVD, as long as you have the activation code (Steam or Bethesda Game Launcher) which is included in the manual.

Some other Ozbargainers said they called the EB shop and got the code over the phone.

    • I got one. It has a Steam key inside. There is a disc but it would be pointless.

I wonder what the trade-in value is lol

    • +4

From what i re-call they don't do trade in for PC games due to the one time activation key which makes sense

  • +1

First one was in 2016, then eternal came out last year. Noting a strong correlation between these Doom releases and what we'd summarily call "bad" years.

liberal national governments seems to fit…

    • American elections!

Was going to go get it, but checked Steam to be sure. Already had it. Saved me a trip.

    • +3

I have a shamefully large backlog of unplayed steam games too. But Doom is not to be missed.

Way too much for a 30 year old game. edit: sorry wrong deal

    • Id pay 95c for the orginal PC Hero's Quest!

  • Ok got it, thank you OP

  • +1

To save anyone else the trouble none of these 95c PC games are in stock at Firle, SA, despite the website saying they are. This store doesn't even keep PC games on the shelves anymore, it's all console stuff.
