They harvest their prawns fresh from November through to May every year. Outside of these times, our prawns are also available in frozen.

Available all year (not just Christmas!) and even better, not only do Australians love the taste of prawns, but they’re also incredibly nutritious and packed with beneficial minerals and nutrients.

Just like us, Tiger Prawns come in all different shapes and sizes!

Hopefully it’s not too salty…I found some of the precooked one having a ton of salt and kind ruin the taste a bit….

We know what you mean, these are not too bad at all. We have found a good rinse as they defrost for 10-15 does very well.

      Australian?
      Tiger Prawns?
      Cooked?

        Yes, yes, yes!
Bought large sustainably sourced cooked Australian Tiger Prawns @Coles a few days ago for $18.50/kg. Just checked the price tag. Seems to be a glut after quiet Christmas.

        • At $18.50 it’s a clearance line for fresh prawns

          • @Tal_Shiar: There wasn't the demand to meet the supply they had at several Coles. That's why prices were low.

Were good for days later. Woolworths had similar large Australian cooked prawns for $20/kg.

Similar for the WA Cray prices - low demand (usual Christmas functions cancelled) = low prices.

Since prices are so low, I've been buying 500g every few days🍤🍤🍤

    • G'day bender000,
      Thank you for the question.
These are X-LARGE 10-15 Australian farmed Prawns, the market value of this premium prawn is around $35-$38 per kg.
Not sure what your supermarket is selling or what their origin is.
      Take care

      NGL Bender you're onto something.
$20-$25 a kilo for XL WA fresh tiger prawns at my local Coles, not sure how this is considered a deal considering you need to buy 3kg of them.

Let alone shipping them halfway across the country

Good 1 I know its hard to understand that not every one lives on top of the fisherman's market !

If I lived on top of them I get them from the boats fresh , not a Coles :)

thanks OP, I purchased one :)

    Got mine today.

Much better than anything you can get at Coles or woolies. They're more like the ones you get from Vic market for ~$35/kg

    • Thank you so very much for the feedback, we love them.
