For some reason some colours had delivery times of month, but the colour they chose had delivery ETA of Jan 6th

@Bodogbodog: The apple websites also says only 90 day warranty for replacement. However I had 1 year warranty on my replaced iPhone 6.

Would you recommend the XR to a light user?
Yes. It’s got all the features of iOS without (comparatively) breaking the bank
The camera is good. The battery is good. The screen is good (despite what anyone says not being 1080p)
I honestly feel the advances over the 8 have been incremental and none of which are earth shattering.
I convinced myself there were enough big bears to upgrade to a 12 mini - but honestly - the Xr was fine
How are battery life of these compared?
12 mini has mad optimisation given its capacity. Small battery but best battery life. But that could also be due to iPhone XR getting down to 8X% battery health
IPhone XR had stellar battery life when new and it held up very well. Big battery. Always last a full day. Often lasts 2
8 was a bit sketchy

Basically I don’t know what wizardry they use but for a tiny battery you get easy all day battery life. As an example I’ve not used my phone much today. I have 75% battery remaining but I’ve only had 2hrs 15 min screen time
At most I’ve had 6 hours screen on time without being scared of needing a charge
Beyond 6 hours of screen on time I’d say get off your damn phone!!!
This has all the same internals as the iPhone 12. It’s not been gimped in any way. And it runs like butter
Only downside is somehow apple as set the colour temp of the panel as warm (read yellow). This is purely software. If you turn off True Tone display you get your normal whites back. That’s my only complaint

Considering buying this for my Mum who currently uses an Huawei P30 but wants to move across to iPhone. I’d have thought this was a great entry level phone but the comments seem to suggest otherwise for some reason.
I'm in a similar boat. Handed down old iPhone 6 to my Mum when I upgraded to XR about 12+ months ago. That phone is still ok but I've just jumped on this deal as well for her. There's always better phones in the market but this is a great, cost effective deal for what my Mum will use the phone for anyway.

Does anyone have any recommendations on the tempered glass or screen protecotor and wireless charger?
i reckon it is a trade off b/w safety and convenience. If not worried about safety, kmart is definitely a go!

Did you use wireless charging or the regular port? Any tips for such an awesome battery health.
I mainly use a cable with the ipad charging brick, or this QC charging brick I received with this crappy wireless dock from ebay.. Only used wireless if I can't find a lightning cable and stuck with a Micro USB wireless charger.
I probably lost the first 10% from too much mobile gaming the first two years.. i've quit mobile gaming the past year and only charge to full at night with the optimised battery charging on.
i have issues with apple because they are so amoral - way 2 many dead journ'os on their hands plus the tax avoidance, third world exploitation and child labour all largely ignored now

I think they're the black and white colours are now out of stock, the less desirable colours are still working.
Speak for yourself - Coral and Yellow are my wife’s favourite colours. In the end if they’re in a case it really doesn’t matter
(I was more speaking for the people of australia who seem to prioritise those colours)

yes me too. For VIC, it is getting shipped from Altona.
Don't get too excited until it progresses past the shipped state.
We ordered three on 24th and 25th, received shipping notifications on 28th and 29th.
Two of the three orders progressed past the shipped state and arrived on the 30th but the white one is stuck on shipped which just indicates the shipping documentation has started but Toll haven't actually received the iPhone XR from JB yet.

We are beginning to wonder if JB may have messed up our order as the ETA for White XRs was showing as 5-Jan after ordering ours when the black and red that we have received were showing Feb.
Edit: checked with JB and it appears there was an issue with shipping :(

Looks like we may have missed out on the white XR we ordered on Christmas eve as JB won't have stock to replace the one that didn't get to the carriers.
Hope it was just our order and other orders don't have the same issue.

They really screwed everyone over. Said they had no more stock, sold out all of the undesirable colours (yellow, coral, red, blue) and then re-listed more.

That’s unusual it would only have 90 days warranty - normally the warranty period is the full 12 months from the day you get the replacement phone
That’s what I love about Apple - 24 months of warranty (and even a bit of leeway after that it seems) and a very flexible approach on replacing faulty units
