      Hi DTA,

Our P2 respirator masks are P2 compliant and P2 respirator masks can have earloops. It is a common misconception that we here from time to time as previously cup masks were the only type of P2 masks that you would generally find in Australia and cup masks require headbands due to the way they are constructed. For example here is a large international player that too sell P2 earloop masks See it here. I hope this helps clarify your question :)

      • +1

Would you have a Certificate of Compliance or other similar document, or certification by a JAS-ANZ accredited body?

        • +2

          Hi PCHammond,

Yes we do, if you email us on the contact us page we can send you a copy when we are back in the office tomorrow :)

      • Am bored with face mask. Do you sell face shield op?

        • Hi holycr4p,

Unfortunately we don't, however there is a manufacturer in WA that does, not to sure what their name was at the moment.

        • +1

The face shields dont do shit.

          • @gakko: yes it is … it is to cover your eyes from someone talking close to you and if they don't wear mask

          • @gakko: Quite the contrary! Having been on the receiving end of shit (and other likewise unpleasant bodily fluids) I can assure you a solid barrier between yourself and and the donor of said shit is very effective. If, however, you mean face shields are not as effective as masks then you’d be correct since they don’t provide protection against fine aerosols, only larger droplets.

      • Can you provide your National Institution for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approval?

I know the answer, you cant because applications with design deviations including ear loops are not being accepted by NIOSH for approval
        https://www.tga.gov.au/behind-news/regulation-personal-prote…

It is a common misconception (which you have furthered) that just because something is P2 rated that it works and filters >95% of particles.
That is untrue and is dependent on how well the mask fits the face.

Ear loop masks do not fit as well, do not seal around your face as well and do not filter as well.

When comparing a surgical mask with head ties vs a procedure mask with ear loops, there was a large difference in fitted filtration efficiencies (FFEs) (71.5% v 38.1%, respectively).1 Even more worrying, there was also a similar trend of poor FFE performance for N95 respirators designed with ear loops vs those with head straps.

      Everyone’s a mask expert now…

I think the Australian standards also say they need to have the certification or whatever it is printed on the mask too.
For the "real" reason people are buying them for (COVID and home use) I'm sure it'll do the job, can't be any less trustworthy than the Bunnings KN95s lol.
But for any sort of professional use like insurance or WorkSafe liability you'd probably not want to leave it to any chances.

        Hi JeBs,

I cannot state how difficult it is for any manufacturer out there to manufacture every component needed to constructed a final product. If we were to do what you are suggesting, we would need to become a fabrics manufacturer, plastics manufacturer, metal fabricator and so on. Then one could use the same argument and state you didn't manufacture the metals yourself, then continue down the supply chain suggesting we haven't mined the metals ourselves and so on, it just isn't feasible. The definition of a manufacturing is "steps through which raw materials are transformed into a final product" as such we source raw materials, which are the fabrics and other components that have nothing to do with each other, that then go into the manufacturing of masks and make a final product, which is our respirator masks. Regarding 'made from materials from x country' that is usually reserved for food, it's unusual and unorthodox to see it labeled on products outside of food manufacturing.

I hope this clarifies your question :)

          • +13

            @JeBs: JeBs

A more helpful post would be to point to a manufacturer that does meet your strict requirements

        • The definition of a manufacturing is "steps through which raw materials are transformed into a final product" as such we source raw materials, which are the fabrics and other components that have nothing to do with each other, that then go into the manufacturing of masks and make a final product, which is our respirator masks.

What do you do in Australia?
Do you import the finished filtration fabric, earloops, and metal. Then cut the fabric and add the earloops and metal?

If Australia had not made P2 masks before you I assume nobody in Australia was ready to make the finished filtration fabric so you would not have had a choice but to import it?

      • +2

Most things made in Australia are only assembled here from overseas produced parts. Australia offshored most manufacturing over the last 50 years.

        • -2

that's not what most "I don't buy China products" thinks :)
if they want every materials manufactured in Australia, they probably find only some seafood and milk
          XDD

those people should get "Product of Australia" instead of "Australian Made/Made In Australia"
          https://www.australianmade.com.au/why-buy-australian-made/ab…

          • @davidl2: Even then, most packaged/frozen seafood is from Thailand or Vietnam :O All our fish goes to international markets.

      • -1

If that is true, I may as well pass the "Australian middle man" and buy direct from China other their country, so long as they meet stringent local standards (of those foreign countries.)

you probably be more surprise when you look into most "Australian Made/Made In Australia" products
just accept the fact that we are all under the same roof - earth

else, just pick "Product of Australia"
but I'd really like to see what's left in your house that are not related to China
start from your mobile phone and computer(100% of their materials not related to China)?

      • Jebs you're wrong

  • +1

How do these compare with the KN95 masks sold at Bunnings? I find that those tend to smell after a while (probably because I don't brush my teeth). Will the activated carbon help remove my funky odour?

    • +18

      Brush your teeth

      • -1

        Your not my real mom.

        • +7

Your mom never ask you to brush teeth?

    • +3

      Hi chickendinner123,

We've had great feedback about our masks, these are different to the KN95 as that is the Chinese standard and are manufactured in china to their standard, ours are manufactured here and adhere to the Australian P2 standard. We have had comments about our masks not having the smell you associate with other types out you mentioned, and the activated carbon filter are great filtering out odors that pass through from the outside. From personal use i haven't really felt that it retains much order from my usage it tend to just smell the same throughout.
Hope this helps clarify your question :)

    • Interested with any comparisons between the two as well. I bought a Bunnings one to fill my rotation, but it's definitely not as comfy as these Honeywell ones I have. Those are noticeably more comfy, like very soft and cushioned feeling.

  • +1

Thanks OP (and thanks to those previous purchasers who provided feedback) - ordered the 50+10

  • The about us link 404s

    • Hi Trance n Dance,

Thank you for bringing up that, i have just corrected the link and it should be working ok now :)

  • +1

It fits well and are of good quality. Just to confirm however, these are not fluid resistant and as such is not certified for medical use is that correct?

    • Hi drwho,

These are just a standard P2 respirator masks, currently they have not been tested for the surgical mask standard, however that may change in the near future.

"Standard respirators – suitable for use for confirmed or suspected coronavirus (COVID-19) patients in non-surgical settings, or settings where there is unlikely to be fluid spray beyond a cough or sneeze."

Would be good to see some fluid resistance tests, but at the end of the day, add in some physical distancing and good hygiene habits to minimise your chances of getting it….

    • I’d be wearing it under my surgical mask and switching the surgical mask between each patient.

  • How many times can you use one mask

    • When you can’t breath through it anymore.

    • +1

Hi Bargainhunter, these are single use masks and have a recommended use time of a up to 8 hours, there after it can start to get clog up and become harder to breathe in, especially in high particle environments like dusty confined spaces. I hope this helps clarify your question :)

  • +1

I bought a bunch of these the first time they were posted, very happy with them.

    • Hi Gilbarc,

Thank you so much for your kind feedback, we are glad that you liked them and are very happy with them :)

  • Are these OK to wear on an aeroplane during an international flight ?

    • +1

      Hi 51ngh,

There are no issue with wearing these on a plane, it would be similar to wearing them in an indoor setting. However given the close proximity with other people we would suggest you follow the instruction on the back and if you need to take it off at anytime to protect in the internal side of the mask from the cabin air as much as possible to avoid contamination.
I hope this helps with your question and if you need to fly abroad to stay safe :)

  • Can you breathes easy with this

    • Hi Bargainhunter55,

From the P2 test we conducted all 10 participants reported no issue regarding breathing difficulties and similar feedback were received from customer as well, however please note it is different to breathing without a mask as the air needs to pass through filters. Also if you have health condition with regards to breathing difficulties it best to speak to a doctor first before wearing a wearing a mask. I hope this helps cladity your question :)

OP. I just ordered 5 pack+1. Please ship it asap. Thank you

  • Thanks bought, but accidently put 5 instead of 6 in my cart, hopefully I get the free pack :)

    • +1

You definitely will! As per OP:

However if you accidentally checked out with 5 instead of 6 or 10 instead of 12 ect we will manually amend the order on our end and send out the free packs with your order.

The "Australian Made" logo literally means: "The product has undergone its last substantial transformation in Australia." Materials can be from anywhere.

You were being downvoted because you negged the deal, not because you inquired about the source of the materials. Maybe if you ask politely instead of going on the attack the rep might give you the answer you want. 🤷‍♂️

      • -3

Most people who see the Made in Australia claim assume the materials too were “made” in Australia. I wonder how many people would buy this mask if they found out the materials it was made from were sourced from the country of origin of COVID-19: China.

People will speculate until this company comes clean with where the materials originated from.

Also I assume I’m being downvoted by mainly associates of this company, who want my comment suppressed due to its negative implications.

        Mod: Removed incorrect assumption/accusation.

        • +1

I have the same doubts as well. There are a lot of products in Australia, not just masks, they claimed they are made in Australia but when you check the label on the back of the product, it says it's only made with 5~15% of material from Australia. Quick examples from Woolies https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/48115/kraf… and https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/172660/woo…

          • +1

@vaski: "Packed in Australia" is probably a more suitable label

          • +2

@vaski: They don't say made in Australia though. They're labelled as packed in Australia

            • @Scope: Well, the cheese is, lol. Cashew is packed with less than 10% Australian cashew. Can't they just make a pack with 100% Australian cashew? and let the customer decide to buy either imported cashew or Australian cashew. They had to mix them together for some reasons.

    • +3

If it's made in Australia it still meets Australian P2 standards which is what matters. Also you're still supporting a local business. Your comment above where you said you would avoid the middle Australian mand and buy from the likes of China is exactly what this country doesn't need right now.
Even if he is sourcing from China you are supporting the Aussie industry which is what we need. My 3m mask states made in USA. Does that mean all components are made in USA… Very much doubt it.

    • +3

Hey JeBs, why don’t you answer the ‘pivotal question’ that was posed to you earlier requesting you post a link to a product that does meet your strict requirements? Until you do that your arguments are empty. And what masks do you use (if any)? Are they fully 100% Australian sourced and made?

      Further, you posted this below:

Also I assume I’m being downvoted by mainly associates of this company, who want my comment suppressed due to its negative implications

Erm…where’s your proof? Making unsubstantiated comments like that make you look like a conspiracy theorist. Throwing rocks in glass houses and all that…

  • Bought 50 with the bonus 10 - thanks OP.

    • -8

So you bought 60 masks that were presumably made out of materials sourced from China? You deserve a medal. If that’s what brain-dead Australians consider “Made in Australia”, so be it.

      • +1

Please tell me you check everything you buy from the grocery and only take australian grown/made?

Tell me what brand of rice you buy or where they are from. Or where your shanpoo is manufactured, or soap, etc..

While it is good that you advocate for australian made products, it is clearly not easy when 95% of the items are indirectly outsourced, one way or the other.

      • +1

Does the dinosaur used for the plastics have to be sourced from Australia too, or can that be imported?

  • Unfortunately could only add 2 to cart. Is it a glitch or OOS?

    • Looks like that would have been the last 2 as its OOS now

    • I just tried adding it to my cart now and it works, so give that another try if you still want them!

  • Hi there,

May I ask when these masks expire?

    • +1

If OP doesn't get back to you, according to their site, they were founded in March '20 and sometime between then and now, they switched from being an importer to a manufacturer of P2 masks. As a baseline, a P2 mask from RSEA should last (i.e. remain effective) three years from the date of manufacture when stored within the temperature range of -20 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius and less than 80% relative humidity (i.e. a cool dark place). Based on that, I would assume the earliest expiry date will be March '23. However, best to get in touch with the store directly if you don't get a reply from OP for the most accurate info :)

  • Ordered 50, not sure how to add the 10 free one though…

    • You add 6 lots of the 10 pack and it'll automatically adjust the 6th pack to be free. If you only ordered 5x 10 packs or the 50 pack, I'd contact the store ASAP and have the order amended.

    • I wouldn't worry about contacting the store. They've mentioned if you accidentally checked out with 5 instead of 6, they'll manually amend the order on their end and send out the free packs with your order :)

  • Do these hurt ears?

    • Any mask used for a prolonged period will do.

  • Thanks
Australian made so I’ll give them a whirl. Happy 2021 to you

  • +1

IMO, this is a very good deal, because this Complies with: Australian Standard AS/NZS 1716:2012.
Many "Surgical masks" in market now don't meet Australian Standard 4381:2015, which includes Level 1,2,3.
Even it does, AS 4381:2015 masks are only suitable for droplet precautions and are not suitable for use to protect the wearer from airborne infectious agents. P2/95 respirators are suitable for aerosol/airborne precautions.

  • Nice. thank you. Have ordered 60 :) So glad to buy australian!

  • Just in time for the Australian summer :)

    :(

  • Are these as effective as N95 for blocking COVID?

    • +1

N95 is the American standard, P2 is the Australian standard.

They are both slightly different, but close enough to the same thing.

  • Are these masks able to block out covid 19 virus?

  • +3

proudly Australian Made P2 Respirator Masks.

Was your packaging designed in Australia too?

5 layer of advanced filtration (you mean layers)
Smokes and fumes (you mean smoke)
Weed control spray (why aren't the C and S capitalised like all the other points?)
"Please also ensure that an p2 mask Is adequate" (you mean Please also ensure that a P2 mask is adequate)

The back of the package also has a number of grammatical errors.

If the packaging has mistakes on it that were not picked up in quality control how can we trust that the masks work as claimed?
Or is quality control on the masks better than the packaging?

    • lol, splitting layers, are we !

  • I have not received the masks yet due to delays but I am very happy with the customer service and the transparent communication and treatment to your customers. Thank you!

  • Disappointing to get the shipping delay email today when rep posted that it would be shipped in 1-2 days. Sounds like they dont hold much stock to cover orders and are waiting to manufacture more.
I ordered less than 10 minutes after deal was posted as well so that would be most of the orders from this deal.
