So long as you’re vaccinated….
If we get our vaccinations before then, then we’d be safe wouldn’t we as long as there wouldn’t be another different mutant strain. Unfortunately, I see cruising not on the 2021 horizon. 🤧😷😢
Current COVID-19 vaccines don't provide 100% protection for individuals. Their efficacy ranges from 70% (the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine) to 94% (Moderna) and 95% (Pfizer-BioNTech) in preventing symptomatic COVID-19 disease. They provide much less protection against asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection.
This means even after getting your own vaccination, it is NOT safe to go into an area with an active outbreak. It will only be safe to travel once a significant proportion of the population in the destination area has been vaccinated.
I think I’ll wait till someone in the USA grows a third arm to see if it’s safe before I get it at the end of the year. 🧐
