Fuel App - Queensland

Greetings from the Sunshine State.

Late to the game and trying to find a good App. Surprised that I cant find any specific thread, although it looks like 7-11 has been mentioned a lot.
Pity this is not the closest/most convenient to us.

Thought I heard the name Spy somewhere but unsure now.

Can someone please help me there? Thanks heaps!

Try motormouth. It’s ok. Pity it can’t filter certain stations where I can use loyalty cards.

Either Petrol Spy or Petrol Buddy: https://petrolbuddy.net.au/
Both have apps as well as their web site.

  • Thanks All, I have a few leads now!

  • None of the Apps are truly any value although in some locations it may work with enough competition and info updates.
Not all servos have to give the prices, and then it can change after a price is posted. Like electronics, it is out of date as it is posted.
Then there are the opposition sites giving incorrect over priced updates for other servos, yes it is happens.

The best method is, when you see a very good price…fuel up and fuel up smarter, not as the needle sinks lower than E for too late.

The App information and accuracy is simply not viable yet.

Have you tried any of the apps in the past 2 years? Queensland has a fuel price reporting scheme where retailers must update their prices within 30 minutes, and a variety of apps are available to view the data. If it's a particular servo not doing it it might be worth reporting it because they can be fined for not updating the price data.

  • Yes actually, my opinion is up to date, especially when not all servos are in the Apps. I try various ones when I feel optimistic about chasing a better price, but still, the price is not accurate if the info is out of date, even by 30 min. I find, it is still better to stop at a good price when I see various servo prices and I am in the market but not urgent. That gets me the best deals. This is a work vehicle doing 1-4 fuel ups a week, where I refuse to waste money to save the same money.

  • I've been using FuelMap on Android for prices (paid version to remove ads) and the RACQ Fair Fuel app for the pricing cycle info.

    • Same here. I also use the ACCC cycle to understand how in of out of phase the Sunshine Coast is in relation to Brisbane.
