Does the logo plaque on an American Tourister hardshell suitcase come off without putting a hole in the suitcase? I'm thinking of getting one but I am put off by the logo.
I ask because I have heard you should avoid any American and/or United States signs or symbols on clothing luggage etc for security reasons when travelling internationally.
true but i'm not sure i want to save money on a deal on a suitcase and then be stuck with one i can only use domestically and have to buy another for international

there is the recent war crimes thing too. until now i think we might have been the only country who's military didn't have that stain.
but it is a thing that people say. and americans sometimes (often?) follow that same advice and even lie as much as possible about where they are from when travelling for the same reasons of safety and security.

I am guessing you are trying to avoid overt symbols that reference America. As dasher86 said, get Samsonite, and even though they are owned by the same company, you won't have this issue. Also, you could get Antler - I have some Antler luggage and so far happy with the quality.
antler do have one i was looking at in the same colour i like in AT. the AT one is a couple of liters bigger. and i do like the pattern of the AT one more.
Just whack a smiley emoji and/or peace sign on top of the American Tourister emblem, problem solved.

yes i was pondering what i could possibly stick over it. its just that its one of those moulded shells with ridges in patterns, and i'm not sure how well something will stick on it. also of course something stuck on isn't going to withstand a lot of baggage conveyerbelts, but i suppose i could just keep replacing it.

Nobody cares. Anyone who knows anything know it is mid budget brand and it doesn't mean you're American or American leaning. Chill out and relax.
I think this is wrong, and in some countries an English speaking person with bags showing the stars and stripes will definitely be assumed to be American.
Speaking specifically to "American Tourister hard shell" none of the American Tourister luggage shows the stars and stripes.

If you are traveling with an American Tourister suitcase it's unlikely you're going to Afghanistan. Shouldn't be an issue.
If you are too risk averse to buy AT luggage I can't see you going near any countries where it may be an issue.
I wouldn't be travelling with American flags on my gear, unless travelling to North America exclusively.
Only takes one crazy in Paris, or London, to think your'e American and the best you can hope from your holiday is a great story. They shoot/stab Police Officers, a random "US tourist" is bonus collateral damage.
