  • What's the pros/cons of this scheme vs popping the clothes into those charity bins outside Coles? Aside from logistics.

    • Pro is if the clothes are not in good enough condition to be donated, they'll recycle them. If they're all in good nick definitely chuck them in the charity bins!

Am I being trolled here? PAYING to donate clothes to an organization that isn't even a not-for-profit?

For the people asking, the shit clothes get recycled and the good ones get donated. If you put them in a donation bin, the shit ones get chucked and put into landfill to take a few 100 to a few thousand years to degrade.

    • But it doesn't cost me a cent to put them in a donation bin!

      • Yeah but this is about the environmental impact. There's not many places that do this, like maybe 3-4 in Australia including these guys. The only other place that's easily accessible are H&M and Zara, and I'm pretty sure they've suspended their services atm due to CoViD. The other thing is that these guys take shoes as well which is cool. I'd rather minimise my impact on the environment where I can rather than having my clothes only be half degraded in my lifetime, so it's a deal for me.
