Amazon kindle with light. Not as good as Black Friday prices but still pretty good. Now that the base model has the light there’s no need for the paper white.

i think mine is that old but its going strong still. i even left it in the rain for hours and it was drenched. still working. battery is still holding charge and not discharging any more significantly when i got it around 3+ years ago
I believe the paper white still has a higher resolution display (better PPI).

Haha. Therea a lot more between them than just the light.
CHOICE rates this one equal to the Paperwhite for readability. They actually rate it higher for indoor readability. I don't know how that's possible with much lower resolution but there it is, believe it or not.
Paperwhite is waterproof, this one isn't by the looks of it. PW has one more LED for more even lighting, almost twice the resolution on the screen, and a flush front design so not as much dust and crud gets caught in it, though the paperwhite is waterproof so you could rinse it under the tap anyway.
Besides the water proofing is the resolution and led lighting that noticeably diff to warrant the price jump from normal kindle to paperwhite?
The New Paperwhite is waterproof now….just gonna wait till my 5 years old paperwhite to die….
