HTC Sensation XE or XL $0 Upfront When Extending a Vodafone Plan for 24 Months

Hi, my brother recently got an email from Vodafone offering him the choice of either a HTC sensation XE or XL for $0 if he extends his current $29 plan for the next two years (yikes!). He actually doesn't mind doing it, especially since he just got the XL model as a gift!
For me, this basically means that I'll be getting a brand new phone for almost zilch, thank you.

I don't know the specific details about this deal just yet other than that he's been on a $29 cap Vodafone plan for the past year and a half. Maybe only those who've actually stayed on their network received this offer?
Anyone else get this offer too?
If so which phone would/will you choose?

    XE is better. Dual core, higher resolution bigger batt.

    The only thing going for XL is screen size (but lower resolution) and built in 16gb

    The XE feels much better in hand imo and I'll probably need a bit more than 16gb anyway.

    The XE seems to be better (terms of screen resolution). The XL has a better market value though.

    Is it real?
    I am trying to get a price match for few handsets on virgin or crazy johns and they were refusing to do so.
    I am with vodafone with few days to end the contract.

      Yep, I just got the phone yesterday. You really do need the email though as they need to check it has your details and then they'll call up Vodafone to complete the process. I don't think you could do it otherwise. The deal also provides two years warranty for the new phone and 1gb extra data on the extended plan.

        yes, you are right. But the question is, how to get a good phone cheap from them. I think I will have to move to crazy johns as they are giving better prices than vodafone.
