Worse $/mL on my quick math. I thought buying in bulk was suppose to make a saving!?

Yea, Costco is a bit of an eyewash if you aren't careful.

    appropriate for 12 year olds?

  • Don't do it

If you do, mix it with soda. But even then, don't do it.

That review sounds positive for those who like to mix with soda, so not sure why you'd still recommend not to do it? Some of us alcoholics can't afford to have a rich man's taste and only go for top shelf picks. I haven't tried it, but based on your link it sounds like a winner to me and just bought one. Thanks!

I agree - it is a positive review:
"Typically, scotch-and-soda drinkers mix scotch into soda water anywhere from 1 part in 2, to 1 part in 5 (i.e. 1:1, down to 1:4 scotch:soda). I have experimented on the Chivas Regal 12, and find something almost magical happens around 1:3. Suddenly, all the unpleasant characteristics disappear, and the floral and nutty notes are amplified in a refreshing mix. It’s really quite the startling transformation."

      • Because there are other reasonably priced blends that also taste fine in soda and don’t taste like arse when they’re not mixed with soda, like Dewars or Ballantines?

Knock yourself out, but nobody comes in cold to a CR12 at any dilution and says “my, that was money well spent”. I can see how it’d taste better if you’d have one and then had one that was more diluted but that’s because you’re effectively rinsing your mouth with soda.
