    Awesome thanks for posting!

  • What has better resale price, a limb or a kidney?

    • +3

Depends on if you get the "arm and a leg" bundle discount.

    • Kidney.

    • Kidney = $70K

    Ozbargain OC comp when?

  • I suspect my GPU is the culprit behind random crashes I get a couple times a week. Is this good software to test that theory?

    • +1

Yes, just use the stress test setting and see if it crashes.

quite normal if its AMD :)

Have owned both Nvidia and AMD/ATI cards over 20 years and both of been prone to driver issues and crashes. No point being a fan boy/girl over a multi billion dollar publicly listed company that want our hard earned money.

Unigine and Furmark is free too, https://benchmark.unigine.com/ https://geeks3d.com/furmark/

if you don't want to spend a single cent to troubleshoot your GPU, it might be worth considering using the free options first.

      • Cheers, I appreciate it.

      • And there’s a looping feature on the unigine benchmarks that mean you can “gaming” stress test for an indefinite period of time.
Whereas I don’t think that’s possible on the 3Dmark bench?

        • +2

It is possible. Click the "stress test" tab.

3DMark offers many tests, each designed for a specific class of hardware. You should use the test most suited to the system you are testing. The test runs continuously for 20 loops without pausing or reloading between loops. A full test lasts around 10 minutes. You can stop the test at any time by pressing the ESC key.

Is anything overclocked? That's usually the first culprit.

Overheating is another common issue. How old is the system? Have you replaced thermal heat paste on cpu? Are your temps on gfx card or cpu running really high?

      Ram may be an issue.

3dmark may cause a crash but it wouldn't help identify the above other causes

    • The last 2 Nvidia drivers have been causing me stability issues. Have rolled back to 457.51 with no issue.

    • Look at your hard drives too. I was having random crashes and it was due to a faulty hard drive, it wasn't even my boot drive.

  • What's the usual price?

  • I bought this last night here's my results https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/55370346 need to spend moreeeeee. Nah quite happy with the results, haven't touched anything but looking into undervolting now.

lol, I am not going to spend $ to prove that my machine is under par.

  • I'm quite sick of seeing that timespy demo. So no.

    • That's why you buy it, so that you can skip the demo.

      • Maybe its just me but I also feel that the palette of colours is so so unappealing.
