That Remote Control Flying Shark Now Only $19.99 Shipped from Lightake

370

As useful as a turd in a lunchbox and potentially more expensive than the $19.99 when you add the helium, but this is $10 cheaper than it was on OzDeals a day or two ago and thats not even including the freight, which is probably another $7 or $8. Ozdeals claim it was originally $95 so this is a significant drop.

Keep in mind this is from Lightake - from experience, quite good to deal with but don't expect a pre-Xmas delivery.

Does anyone know where to get cheap Helium in Sydney?

  • looks interesting, according to the instruction, it is filled in gas helium, wondering how quick it will be leaking the gas, and where to get gas helium

Also, just found this one at Tinydeal for 10 cents cheaper but with a different remote:

  • It's doubtful they will arrive before giftmas

  • Spotlight party section has helium…

good price for something that might break the moment you open it. <insert Mastercard priceless joke here>

  • Spotlight website states balloons would last 10-12 hours depending on conditions http://www.spotlight.com.au/departments/spartys/balloons/

This might rack up some serious $$ to keep going.

I think they're awesome, and I was planning on buying one for my little brother… but decided against it, because of the inconvenience of having to buy helium all the time, and the extra cost.

Maybe I'll be less of a cheapskate one day. Doubt it though.

  • My sister told me this toy will last a week with helium provided it has no leaks… most should grow tired of it by then…

  • $20 more reasonable since it is only around RMB60 from China.

  • I saw these for $15 at Rhodes shopping centre… one of those pop-up store things.

  • +1

All I'm thinking is… man the stuff people waste $20 on… lol

    • I dunno, a few hours' entertainment for the kids/big kids for the cost of a main in a not-expensive restaurant or the cost of a 3D movie ticket… Seems a pretty reasonable way for someone to spend a bit of money to me.

  • And this is how we treat the Nobles!? :D

p/s - the amount of helium used in balloon related activity is rather negligible compared to industrial use. this was more of a joke.

    • Shhh Gillard will tax Helium!

  • I'm waiting for the FLYING PIRANHA. not.

also, interesting that helium is so cheap, and should be a lot more expensive:

Anti-smoking campaign, al qaeda style >=]

  • some people i asked would like to get this but are put off because of the cost and availability(lack of) of the helium, so why don't they include a small can of helium in the box? it's an inert gas i.e not flammable, but maybe because it's a pressurized container it's a no no? send box by road instead of air

    • +3

They don't do that because there's not a whole lot of road to drive from Hong Kong to Sydney.

      • they could attach the can of helium to the bottom of an already helium filled shark and fly it over? What's the range on one of these babies? :p

  • Can someone tell me the cost of Helium?

  • +1

17.49 at buy in coins, purchused before and rather quick post

  • I bought the shark and clownfish cheaper at tinydeal.com

    If i was 12

  • I'm sure the fun factor wears out after a day or so

    • +2

      Wow at your username lol

  • It cost $25 to fill it up at spotlight with helium. But the thing is so cheap and flimsy that every part you attach with tape gets ripped off by the kids and then once off good luck trying to stick it back on. Also it is noisy and so slow. The helium goes away after a month or so you have to take it back to fill up or top off again.

  • just ordered 1 …… thanks davestan for the code

  • Buy helium at officeworks - saw some there today for like $48 a tank

  • OMG.

COTD is selling the shark today

  • LoL this is FS at http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/ for $29.95pp. COTD is such a FAIL.

    • so we know they are making at LEAST 50% or $10 a shark …… they will probably sell a thousand sharks today…..they sure know how to make money and it gives you an idea of the percentage behind their other deals..
