These are great for people with arthritis in their hands/wrists.

My manual can opener will give me arthritis if I kept using it.

Probably handy if you need to open cans for your dog every day for the rest of your life. I don't know if any brands don't have ringpulls these days, been I while since I owned a dog or stocked shelves.

Had a cheap one years ago - I wouldn't buy again… simply because for the time to get it out and plugged to power, is longer than getting the manual one and open the can.

      Keep it plugged in?

If you don't mind having it sit on your kitchen bench and occupied a space… For me it's less frequently used than a toaster.

  • I'm going to assume the sharpener will absolutely butcher good knives

    • I've bought a few of the previous models over the years. They used to have an abrasive grinding wheel inside for sharpening knives. Did an acceptable job if you were careful and used crap knives that you aren't too precious about. The last one I bought has done away with the motorized grinder and put in a static ceramic rod or similar. They have done away with grinding the blade sharp in favour of "steeling" or honing the edge only. I assume this model is the same.

Does this model have WiFi or Ethernet?

It does have a 4G modem in it and it will text you "your can is now open" when it's done.

      • No Zigbee?

Possession of this device separates the men from the boys

    • Lol because real men are too dumb to use tools.

I use an axe to open my cans.

I look at a can and raise my eyebrow and it just pops open

    • Weird flex but ok

    But why?

    • +1

Easier for some people with disabilities.

But does it open cans of whoopass?

  • Odds this lasts to Saturday for zip pay?

  • Unless you have a problem opening up cans or run a soup kitchen, probably best to think twice before buying, if you don't need it you don't want it.

At our house we open cans.
We have to open many cans.
and that is why we have a Zans.
A Zans for cans is very good.
Have you a Zans for cans? You should.

    • Read it many times to the eldest the last few years; will start with her brother soon.

These always remind me of the Amzing Stories episode called Family Dog.

      Fthhhh..thhhhl…thhluuuug…plop.

  • Do cans even need opening anymore? Don’t they all come with the ring pull? I haven’t opened a fan other than ring pull for yeeeeaaaars!

  • I find myself using a can opener rarely now as most food cans have Can Tabs to pull to open.
