Unless you're competing don't buy those shoes… Pointless. You just look like a try hard.
I get where you're coming from but a lot of people also go too far the other way and put little importance in their choice of shoe for lifting….squatting with a big Nike Air bubble under foot for example.
A lot of things you do with lifting are 1%ers and if wearing these shoes gives you the ability to consistently move that little bit more weight (due to sturdiness or plain placebo) then it's money well spent. Plenty of people will spend more in a year on supplements that do a heck of a lot less than a pair of shoes.
Yeah unfortunately most guys I see at the gym wearing these give of major Joe Exotic vibes..
Honest question, are these ugly af shoes actually comparable to real weightlifting shoes? I see people at gym wearing them and just thought they were 100% fashion shoes. I highly doubt you could do any Olympic weightlifting in these bulky things. Are they hard soled with a raised heel?
think of them as a comfier converse chucks. Just hard soled flat shoe

Dang, times must be tough.
I haven’t lifted for about 12 months now (COVID gym closure and having a newborn) but there was a time when I absolutely lusted for a pair of D-mak II but price always put me off and my trusty pair of high top all stars seemed to do the job just fine.
