Seems like a decent deal, and your website is very appealing to the eyes 👌

Hi, thank you for the feedback! We are very proud of our site and the layout it currently has.

  • I've applied the code but the final total amount is still showing the full price?

    • Hi, which plan do you have in the cart? I'll check the codes.

      Nathan

      • KVM & 16

        • Hi, I've got KVM-16 in my cart with the code "christmas60" and it is displaying the discount. Could you empty your cart and try again.

          Regards,
          Nathan

  • I have a .com.au webdomain and looking for an affordable web hosting. Can you suggest something for WordPress hosting etc.

    • +1

Hi, it depends on how big your site is and how much traffic you have. A good place to start is the Business plan and if you need to upgrade, you can at anytime.

      Regards,
      Nathan

      • Its gonna be a 4/5 pages max website and not much traffic for a photography startup.

        • +1

Hi, in that case, I'd suggest Value. If you don't need more than 5GB of storage then you'll be fine. I know many photographers who use the Value plan without issues. The allocations (CPU, RAM and I/O) should be all good for a small photography site.

          Regards,
          Nathan

          • @ServersGalore: Thank you :) I'll place an order now.

              • @ServersGalore: I can host a WordPress website usung this plan right? Sorry for this Noob question.

                • +1

@[Deactivated]: Hi, yes you can. You don't even need to do much to install it, just a few clicks and its installed and you're ready to go.

                  Regards,
                  Nathan

  • Hi, no LiteSpeed with the shared hosting?

    • Hi, not at the moment but it is planned for the future if theres demand for it. The current setup with NVMe drives in RAID, Gigabit connection and optimised software there isn't much of a difference between the two. If the hardware was a bit older or a different configuration then it may help but at this stage, all sites are lightning-fast. We'll definitely take your suggestion and add an extra +1 to the list :)

We are also doing beta testing for a CDN. It has POPs in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland as well as 34 international POPs.

      Regards,
      Nathan

    • Those are much better than vultr and then moved to binary Lane after testing… So tempted.
Currently paying 15 a month for 2cpu and 4gb ram with 20gb space.

Do you have a Sydney location for the same price?

      • +1

Hi, we are waiting for more stock in Sydney which will be early next year. At this stage we just have Melbourne.

        Regards,
        Nathan

        • Can I be moved to Sydney later?

Will it be on the same hardware you tested on per above?

Also, do you have a firewall as part of the service (free or charged?)
Login from the console, in case issues logging from SSH?

There isnt a match when searching for firewall on the KB articles or details on the services except backup which is an addon.

          Just clarifying before buying as on;

          Basic System Information:

Processor : Intel KVM Processor v2.2
          CPU cores : 2 @ 2893.200 MHz

          Thanks

          • @Encify: Hi, yes you are able to have it migrated to Sydney once we have stock. They will probably be either E2236 or E2136 CPUs in Sydney. You can use VNC to login if you are unable to reach it via SSH and you can also reset the network settings or root password via the control panel as well.

In regards to the firewall, you can manage it via whichever software you install on your VPS. We do not block ports.

            Regards,
            Nathan

            • @ServersGalore: Thanks - I prefer to manage the firewalls on the VPS dashboard, rather than on the OS - my IP changes every few days and its easier to access/change on the dashboard versus OS

I'll give it a spin, see how the stats are compared to binary lane :)

              • @Encify: Hi, since we use SolusVM to manage all VPSs, there isn't any firewall options of the sorts. Any feedback on how your experience has been would be greatly appreciated! We always ask for feedback, negative and positive. It is how we improve our services. Feedback on the service performance, speed, customer service/support as well as the experience from purchasing is valued.

                Regards,
                Nathan

                • @ServersGalore: Hi Nathan, do you have hardware firewall working in front of all vps or web hosting plan to filter harmful traffic, e.g. ddos? Merry Christmas !

                  • @s12321: Hi, yes we have 20Gbps DDoS protection on all of our nodes. We also have stock in Sydney and you can now order a VPS in Sydney.

                    Regards,
                    Nathan

  • Do existing customers need to shutdown and recreate new services to take advantage of this pricing, or could you modify the cost of running VPS?

    • Hi, it's for new customers. Current orders with promotional codes already applied can't be changed, sorry.

      Regards,
      Nathan

      • If it is new customers only, that should definitely be in the title.

If it is new services only, that's fine, I can close my migrate my current services to new services.

        • Hi, it's not necessarily for new customers only as existing customers can order new services but I do not like it when customers cancel their VPS just to buy it again to save $.80/mo (not talking about you). It happens every time there is a deal posted. There are always people cancelling their existing and buying new with the new promotional codes when it's under a dollar in savings.

I have no problem with existing customers adding more services but when you cancel, reorder and do that each time a promotional code is slightly better than your current one, that is when it becomes annoying. At the end of the day we are still a small business struggling through COVID just like everyone else and for people to cancel all of their service to order another just doesn't seem very Australian.

I'm not talking about you but I do have a few dozen people who will cancel ALL of their services and reorder each time a new promotion is open. It's all for under $1/mo savings. The entire provision process and billing is changed each time they change it all and its just very confusing and a little rude, in my opinion. Especially when there is custom plans or requirements. Some people have custom configs in SolusVM which need to be redone constantly as they cancel then reorder.

I'm fine with changing the promotional code if you have a new order thats a few days old or if you just missed out on the last deal by a few days and want the latest, I'm fine with that. It's the ones that will cancel every item and reorder just to save 5%.

You can go ahead and cancel your existing service and reorder with the current promotional but when it becomes a regular occurrence each time there is a better sale by 5-10% it gets annoying. It's that select pool of repeat people that make it difficult to post deals here as its always the same people over and over again. Once off is all good and its all good.

          Regards,
          Nathan

          • @ServersGalore: Hey Nathan,

Good reply and I understand where you are coming from as a business owner. At the same time, you have been targeting the most price conscious group with these offers.

The prices you offer are designed to undercut your competitors by <$1 to lure people to change providers. You've been around here long enough to see people make or break deals based on a couple of cents.

You've called for respect from customers to support you, but this needs to be reciprocated. Two months ago (or SIX different deals ago), you stated:

This will be the last time we will be offering such a large reoccurring discount on our KVM VPS plans so grab then while they are available!

At best, this appears to be a little bit misleading.

On a side note - I believe you have a billing system issue. I believe I have been incorrectly charged multiple times.
Please see invoices: 737024 and 736942 (and the SEVEN automatic payments they have debited in the last 2 months).

            • @BluBoy: Edit: You have 7 active PayPal subscriptions setup all from different invoices. Would you like me to cancel them all and let you setup 1 when the next invoice is due?

Hi, looking at those invoices, they were automatic PayPal subscriptions that were stacked on top of each other. As the invoice came in, you set up another automatic subscription on top of the others. When a new invoice comes in and a PayPal subscription is setup, it will automatically be paid on the due date. If you attempt to pay before the due date and already have a subscription, it will still take out the automatic payment but added to the account as credit so when the next month comes around, there is no charge as there is account credit and it all sorts itself out. You have account credit and that will be used next time an invoice comes in.

We decided to offer the same deal as before as the demand afterwards was very intense. There were many people waiting out for the next deal and disappointed when it didn't match the previous.

              Regards,
              Nathan

              • +1

@ServersGalore: Thanks. I don't recall setting up multiple PayPal subs, but will go through and check it tonight.

But it's not the same offer. On the 50% discount deal you said 'would be the last time', I order one more service than needed for future expansion… Then you not only did the same deal again almost weekly, you also increased the discount for new subscribers now.

This is all fine. You run the business (and you run it well, those services I have are rock solid), and you can chose what to do… But it is a little hypocritical when you complain about existing customers respect, when you make those statements to this community.

I think I have said more than enough. I didn't mean to draw this out like this. Ultimately, you operate a fantastic service at a great price. With a 50% discount, or a 60% discount, this is still the best value Australian VPS I can find (and I have looked in a lot of places!)

                • @BluBoy: Hi, I'm sorry about the mention of that specific deal being a once-off as at the time that was the plan but as we added NVMe nodes to our plans they were changed a bit and I honestly can't remember saying that. It definitely wasn't intentional.

I'll happily change the promotional codes but what I was targeting was the customers who cancel/reorder with a new code but while also needing specialist configurations for each VPS. So every month or so you are having to spend a few hours setting up a configuration for the same customer who has been doing it for over a year. Customers like you who politely ask for the promotional codes to be changed is all good with us.

I've spent years trying to find the right balance of price/performance and in the past year I believe I have found that balance and I'm glad you are happy with the service. As mentioned in other posts our nodes and the way we run is a little unique and different from the traditional VPS Provider. All of our nodes have 100% uptime and the only downtime we get is migrating old users to a new node.

I'm sorry about this entire thread and I didn't intend for this but when you have a handful of customers who have been doing it on repeat for years on end it gets a bit frustrating.

On my end, I can see that there are 7 active PayPal subscriptions that will automatically pay x amount each month and there are duplicates for the invoices you mentioned above. You have $20 credit on your account. My suggestion would be to delete the automatic PayPal subscriptions (I can do this for you if you would like) and when the next invoice is due, you can create a new one with the correct amount. We can't create automatic payments due to PayPal's policy but when you pay with a Credit Card (Stripe) there are no subscriptions and when an invoice is due, the amount is charged to the card on the due date which eliminates PayPal's automatic subscriptions and can be better in some cases as you don't need to worry about multiple charges as its all done via our billing system and each payment is done based on the amount on the invoice.

Once again I want to apologise for this thread and that phrase wasn't intended to mislead on purpose.

                  Regards,
                  Nathan

    • Frankly, I think it is worth to cancel the current plan if you pay monthly base and making a long term relationship with serversGalore. Please note, this deal is Ryzen 9 3900X not the skylake ibr.

That will cost max a month fee, labor and time to switch from vps to vps. (lots calculation :D ), but in fact, we are are keep moving on different ISPs in order to lower down the hosting cost and apply new tech.

they may like you to create more new account instead. And I dont really understand how those isp think of giving new accounts offer better than loyal old customers offer now a day :D they prefer NEW one.

      • Hi, when you prepay 6 or 12 monthly you receive another discount so it is worth it. We have many long term customers who have grown with us over the years and have expanded their range from 1 server to 20-30. It is definitely worth the long term plan if you plan to use the service for that time.

        Regards,
        Nathan

  • +2

That sounds terrible about people cancelling and reordering.

Looks like a great deal, and your answers to a previous thread were informative and it sounds like a good quality VPS. Am keen to try out your servers in the near future.

Your business is not registered for GST?

    • Hi, we aren't registered at the moment as we do not hit the threshold. I'm glad to hear you are keen to try out our services :)

      Regards,
      Nathan

  • Good deal.
Can I made an VPN from your KVM server? Thanks.

    • Hi, yes you can. As long it complies with our TOS, you are able to run whatever software you like.

      Regards,
      Nathan

  • I am unable to find a location to enable two factor auth for login security?
    Do you support 2FA?

    • Hi, yes we do. If you click on "Hello, <your name>" and go to "Security settings" you should see the time based and SMS options :)

      Regards,
      Nathan

      • Ahh, thanks - I was looking under account security, not security settings, thought it was odd to be missing :)

Could you let me know the answers to these please?

Can I be moved to Sydney later if requested? (I believe you have offered this before)
When signing up, will it be on the same hardware you tested per above as you have a few different hardware listed?
Login from the console, in case issues logging from SSH?
Do you have a firewall as part of the service (free or charged?)

        Thanks

Hi, I just replied to the comment above. I'm sorry I passed over your comment this morning.

          Regards,

  • If we go down with VPS do we have a interactive console to create a wordpress site or do we have to
setup everything manually. Setting up servers and databases. ( E.g like having a click and install wp droplet )
Or do we need to go with business plan for a feature like this?

    • Hi, I suggest that you go with our Web Hosting instead of our VPS Hosting. You won't need to do any coding and it's all easily managed. You can install WordPress with just a few clicks. The Business plan is a great place to start, you can always upgrade if you need more resources. With it all being managed by CloudLinux, the performance you will get will be plenty for a WordPress site as each account is separate and if someone else is having problems, it won't affect your site whatsoever!

      Regards,
      Nathan

      • Thanks Nathan. Really appreciate your prompt reply. I'll go for your Web Hosting Plan.

        • Hi, no problem! Let us know if there is anything we can help you with :)

          Regards,
          Nathan

  • I've only recently started dabbling with self-managed VPS and want to start small. If I go on the smallest plan and decide in the future I want to upgrade, will the coupon/discount still apply?

    • Hi, yes it does. The discount will apply with upgrades :)

      Regards,
      Nathan

      • Hey I sent a contact message on the site about my client area being stuck in Spanish… with no way to change it to English.

  • This might be self explanatory, but is this a lifetime recurring discount at the expiration of every 12 month or 1 month (whichever chosen) billing cycle?
Looking to free up some transcoding space.

    • Hi, yes thats correct. The promotional code will stay applied for the lifetime of the product. As long as you keep it active, it will stay active.

      Regards,
      Nathan

  • I've got an issue with my current hosting provider (deal on OZB) where I've been advised that our website is taking up too much resources and generating errors, the website has been optimized but the hosting is offering a managed service. Feel kinda duped that took up a cheap shared plan and then get told to have it managed to resolve the issues. Biggest issue is that the data centre is located O/S not AU

I would like to move our website over to a Aus based company /server with some decent support, what can you do?

    • Hi, we don't offer managed services at this time. We'll be able to host your site for you but if you need things changed, or your site to be actively worked on, then you'll need to look for a managed solution.

If you can manage the site yourself and you are just looking for hosting then we'll be happy to help :)

All of our sites are managed by CloudLinux so even if it is generating errors or "taking up too many resources" it won't be a problem. Other sites won't notice any issues. Each account has its own resources allocated and you are free to use them as you wish. We have a lot of large websites that manage to almost entirely use up the Elite plans CPU, RAM and I/O and run without any issues due to CloudLinux and the way our nodes are configured.

      Regards,
      Nathan

  • We have received a new IP block from APNIC and now have stock in Sydney again. You should be able to select Sydney as a location when ordering a VPS.

If you have a server in Melbourne and would like to be migrated, open a support ticket and we will be able to assist.

Our new Sydney node is an Intel Xeon E-2136 CPU. We do not have Ryzen in Sydney at this stage.

    Merry Christmas!

Grabbed a 4gb vps on the weekend to try, seems to be better performance than OVH openvz for a lower price for anyone considering.

    • Thats great news! Glad to hear you are happy with the performance.

  • Looks like USA VPS is a new addition.

Hope its similar to your Australian VPS in terms of speed and quality, which i am assuming it is.

This is great and also to support an Australian company.
