1 Slab of Carlton Cold for $27.98

220

Hey guys this is my first post…

Just grabbed a slab of Carlton cold for $27.98 from thirsty camel on the way home. I know its not the greatest beer out there but if you don't mind Carlton cold and just want a cheap slab its a pretty good deal considering Dan Murphy's has them for $34.95. Anyway enjoy…

*****EDIT****
Btw its for VIC, not sure about other states

i don't like Carlton Cold, but that's a cheap price for full strength beer…

      4%… that's a light beer to me.

      • i wasn't aware they dropped the alcohol content…

just shows you how long since i've had a bottle…

insert comment about bitching about first time poster stating they are a first time poster when the "1" next to their names tells readers that.

    good price though. thanks

jv gave a +ve and didn't bitch about the first time poster comment.

      The end is near.

a reference to beer made me miss that sentence… >:(

In his defense there was no, "so please be nice", it was a mere statement of fact (granted a re-statement).

    • Some new people don't understand the '1' means first time poster so get off your high horse

  • What city?, or even state? what size bottles? were there 24 bottles?

      (EDIT) I removed my rant.

      • +3

        Was it a good one?

        • Not good enough for me to leave un-edited, obviously.

        • It was a hugh(g)rant

BWS have Bitburger or Sol (depending where you are) for $30:

    • dang, neither in NSW

    • bitburger is great, sol is a bit mexican

  • From the web site Carlton Draught 24x375ml $39.98 in NSW :(

  • is this stuff any good? I usually get Carlton Dry which is quite good.

i think Carlton Cold is awful.

      • +1

It used to be good… before imports became reasonably priced and within reach of most folk. Now its below average compared to most commonly available beers. The 4% is weak compared to most as well… and it definitely tastes it too.

        • I will drink most beers but this one is crap. They have been lowering the alcohol content to save on tax - I'm sure that it was better when it was around 4.6%

Iga have it for the same price pity it tastes like shit

I'll wait until tomorrow for $29.99 for slab of Becks at DM/1st choice, with the GWD coupon of course.

    • GWD coupon?

      What size bottles?

    • shame that isnt in sydney..

even more of a shame is that Dan Murphys is not very competitive this year, liquorland and 1stchoice are having much better prices but not advertising them all. Dans should just come out and match that $29.99 price nationwide

Its an OK beer but at 4% , just not strong enough for my liking.

If it tastes like shit, i must go taste some shit, didn't realize shit tastes so nice !!.

It really depends on the vintage..

      • Gold.

    • I must admit it has been a number of years since ive had it maybe it has improved;)

Carlton Cold isn't too bad. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it, but any will do after a long hard day of playing xbox. Ah, holidays for uni students.

  • Ironically, the best Carlton Cold i've ever drunk was sitting at room temperature.

    • +3

omg… and what was the worst? drinking one strained out of some homeless guys undies?
dude, room temperature beer belongs in one place only…. England.
      shame on you ;).

      • +1

there's a reason why they call it 'Piss'

      • +2

Don't worry, i've drunk my fair share of Coldies in my time as well.

If you want a budget beer and don't mind 4%, Hammer N Tongs is consistently cheap at liquorland only.

But I usually spend the extra 5 bucks and just get Boags.

        • +1

spot on! spend an extra $5 and get something much better, i think an oz bargainer can appreciate a better beer for only a few more dollars
