Greeting OZB…
I was looking to book in Jan around Surfers Paradise, used booking.com with 12% cashback in last deal and can cancel within two weeks.
Is this the OZB way to book in GC? Any suggestions on getting a decent accommodation for a reasonable price ?

Most places I tried are booked out well past Jan..
Not sure how many guest you need to accommodate, but up to 4 I could find lots of options on booking.com
A two week cancellation period doesn't provide much protection in case the you know what pops up like it did yesterday.
Otherwise use "Google Hotels" to see if that hotel is cheaper anywhere else.
didn't' know google hotels exists :) thanks. I can see prices went up everywhere since I book earlier this week. I guess I have a good price then!
It's a risk that must be taken to travel out of state, probably an email to the hotel with a response that they will be flexible in case of border closure will provide a level of assurance. I'll try with them
