How did you find OzBargain?

Time to tell your story…how did you end up joining OzBargain?

I can clearly remember how I joined…I saw a cheap mower at Big W and searched the net for reviews. Ended up landing on OzBargain as the mower was submitted as a deal. The comments were helpful in my decision and I ended up joining.

    I think I came here from ecogamer.com
    and I came to ecogamer.com from Whirlpool while searching for cheap xbox360's
    I came to Whirlpool at the recommendation of a computer nerd brother of a friend when I asked him for an ISP recommendation.

    It all happened a very long time ago however so I could be completely wrong on that!

    I joined when I was looking for a bargain on something, wayyyy back when = user 44 ;)

    I ended up posting a deal, and won the monthly prize woohoo.. then forgot about it for a year, came back and it was hooge!

    I was searching for group buy experiences, there were alot of bad ones and I spent days reading all the bad experiences.. I joined up so that I could share mine & discovered that that is not all ozbargain has to offer!!

      Didn't know OzBargain causes amnesia, other than not remembering why my bank account balance kept on decreasing for no apparent reason (and AusPost kept on showing up at my door bringing me gifts).

    I think I found it (or the OzBargain blog) from a post in Whirlpool's long running Freebies thread. Finding bargains back in 06 was a combination between Whirlpool, the freebies blog, the Ozfree website and random forums. So glad when OzBargain consolidated everything. Some familiar names in that Freebies thread. I think its' up to part 13 now.

        Thanks. I thought I would start blogging again but too much work (actually I'm just lazy). Twitter is a lot easier for lazy writers like myself.

    I discovered OzBargain back in the early days, soon after signing up to Twitter in March '07.. registered on the site and totally forgot about it for several years and my account must have gotten wiped or something :P Signed up again almost a year ago. Definitely saved (and spent!) a lot of money since I first discovered it!

    Whirlpool forums ;) God, that place is pretty funny sometimes. Some of the advice given to newbies there are ultra vague.

    Did anyone used to go to Sweetcollect forums? God… I was like 12 when I was there. I got hundreds of dollars worth of UK lollies shipped to me ;).

    Found it waaaay back in January 2011 when looking for cheap groceries on the interweb (such a noob back then). Best find ever as I have saved myself a small fortune since then. Love that being a cheap-skate can be a team sport!

    i dont know when i joined, but it was probably a year after i browsed it regularly. it was because i spent a shitload at a harvey norman super saturday, when they used to be good!)
