Singapore - Which Food Related E-Gift Card Best?

Hi all, For Christmas I want to buy a $50 Singaporean e-gift for a friend of mine in Singapore. He likes food, so any suggestion which gift card would be best. Do they have any chocolate shops or some good dining places? Is $50 a good amount in Singapore for dining?

  • Is $50 a good amount in Singapore for dining?

yes at a hawker or food court

    no at a restaurant

  • just transfer $50 to his bank account or paypal. singaporeans love caash!

  • On a more serious note, I'd suggest to post over at reddit.com/r/singapore for suggestions too,

I'd imagine something a step up like a Chili Crab meal might run at least 50SGD (probably run higher, haven't been back in ages) but you might be limited in options for places that take gift cards

  • Honestly I don't think gift cards were that popular in Singapore. As others have suggested, ang bow (red packet) is the norm when giving money in Singapore.

For what it's worth, some of the larger restaurant chains which are popular like JUMBO do sell gift cards online if you're set on this option.

Use the promo code - $5 for you to use and you can send an e-ang bao to your friend.

Accepted at lots of hawker centres and DBS' largest shareholder is the government so…..not tanking anytime soon.

You need to have a Singapore mobile phone number as well as be a citizen/resident to signup.

      • Ah…that kinda sucks then. sorry, gotta find something else then.

  • Thanks all, I will transfer cash via paypal..It seems that is an easier option.
