Nicorette Cooldrops 8x 20 (160 Pieces) 2mg/4mg Mint/Fruit - $35.99 @ Chemist Warehouse

90

Walked into CWH today to bulk buy 160 pack Nicorette Cooldrops, as they are cheaper than buying from Coles/Woolies or individually.

8x 20 (160 pieces) 2mg/4mg in Mint/Fruit = $39.99 - $4 (10% frenzy) = $35.99!

Compare to a 4x 20 (80 pack) = $33.49 - 10% = $30.14

RRP for 160 pack is something like $65?

Couldn't believe how cheap they are. I've been buying Nicabate 1x 20 pack lozenges at $13 in Coles.

Decided to clean the shelf and took 3 x 8 x 20 packs.

  • These work for you? I used to smoke, then begun vaping, I still vape now, but need to kick that too. Habit is bloody hard to kick! I just got some gum recently but not tried it yet.

      Myself - I've quit already :D

      This is for my heavy smoking grandmother, who can't chew the gums, and the 2mg patches give her a huge headspin LOL

      Since this post is relevant, these are the things that really helped me quit for good:
      * Analysed my behaviours around smoking.
      * Write a very simple pros/cons list.
      * Associate negative connotations with smoking.
      * Replaced all my negative psychological trigger/habit loops, into positive ones (read this and this).
      * Try to be more conscious of when/where/why you smoke (one of my automatic habits was literally because I got off the train/bus, or was waiting outside stations - not because I was actually stressed!).
      * Reduced stress as much as humanly possible, and find other outputs to relieve stress (gym/exercise/sex/meditation/reading etc).
      * Exercise more regularly.
      * Announced it to all my friends, and encouraged them to say no for me for casual/drunk cigs, but also the freedom to have one when I desperately needed one.
      * Count how many you smoke a day/week and aim to reduce by X amount everyday/week.
      * $$$
      * Health = wealth.

      By the time I did all that, one day I said F this cancerous stick and threw a 3/4 full pack in the bin. Cold turkey since. But everyone's different.

      Use a combination of mist/gums/patches/lozenges (and the occasional ciggy if you're craving) simultaneously, and don't be too hard on yourself for having a sneaky one, or for "quitting" then smoking again. I've failed "quitting" with about 6 solid cracks using the methods above. The goal is to become very conscious and aware of your smoking - then slowly reduce 1 or 2 here and there, then it becomes 3 and 4, and sooner or later, you can quit for good! :)

      There's also heaps of supportive organisations & websites (1; 2; 3; 4; 5).

      I hope this helps your journey to join the smoke-free club! You can do this OzB fam!

      New year, new goals!

    Keep in mind for many with a medicare card, it's cheaper to see a bulk billing doctor and get the patches or gum, or medication (Champix / Zyban). Either giving up will save you $$$.

      +1 wow thanks for the pointers champ! haha

      • Wow, my English. Sorry, a night on the town. A doctor can issue a script for discounted medicine (From under $6 concession or under $40 for a non-concession). Generally 1+ month supply. No more drinking ozb for me. The meds tend to work a lot better but chat to your GP

    I have never smoked and never will, so I can't comment on if they help you quit, but I use these for the cognitive benefits.
    2mg - 4mg a day of nicotine definitely help you feel more switched on, focused, will reduce anxieties and will benefit you in social situations.

      Not sure why this comment is being negged.

      I'm similar.

      Have never smoked before, and use the Nicorette Quicksprays to help keep me focused and reduce anxiety.

      Nicotine is a very powerful nootropic.

      • This sounds interesting.

        I wonder if as an ex-smoker it would have increased negative effects?

        (People be negging because it's "not natural" or some other such crap - meanwhile our entire existences are largely "unnatural" and we are all about performance enhancing on so many other levels. Working an extra couple of hours per day possibly causes more negative effects than working better for a couple hours less).

      • Hey champ, funny I was consider testing these out for optimal cognitive performance too!

        I have heard small doses of nicotine helps with this.

        Can you provide more feedback please? Any concerns with nicotine addiction?

        Currently using a different nootropic, but open to this as well.

        Cheers!

        • Zero concerns. Rmemeber that smokers smoke upwards 100mg-500mg of nicotine a day. I'm having 2mg-6mg.

    • Unnegged to bring back to neutral lol.

      Are you able to elaborate further on your use?

      Currently on nootropic now and was thinking of small doses of testing Nicotine out. Cheers

      • It's not exactly something you're really going to 'feel' all that much. If you're quite optimised already it can add a 5% benefit or so.

        For the price it's definitely worth the try.

        • Awesome thanks for your input!

  • The gum's on sale too. They are a bit expensive to buy a bunch to test the flavours. How do the flavours compare? Does 'classic' taste like chewing rubber?

    • Most taste like extra. Quite Nice.
