Hi all
I’m putting on a spit Christmas Day and need a recommendation for a knife. I was going to get a cordless kenbrook one but the reviews were crap. Then I thought a corded but thinking it might be cumbersome.
Open to non electric options too

Slices through my pork like butter.
This made me so hungry you have no idea.
Yeh me too, might up to get a pork going on a spit this weekend now.
Best knife I have used. Makes you wonder how you could have struggled before.
I just got a kmart corded one. Does great.
If the meat is tender then do you even need a powered knife? In every xmas movie when they power on the electronic turkey carver, it's always a bit of a joke about how silly it looks or sounds.
It's easier to not accidentally fling the meat and the electric cutter doesn't push the meat together which squeezes out the juices onto your coals etc etc.
If your knife is flinging meat and squeezing the juices out, you need a better knife, or get it sharpened, or learn to slice and not chop/hack up and down.
I just use my global bread knife.
It's too sharp to be a proper bread knife anway
OP no need to spend big money on an electric knife for one occasion. If your normal knife can cut through your daily meat, it can carve a spit.
I mean sure, if you want to look good while carving the spit in front of your mates, go grab a nice Wustof from the shops. Or if you don't have a decent knife anyway, go grab a nice Victorinox for daily use. Out of the box it will easily carve through a big chunk of meat, and quite a good price.
Any decent quality slicer or cimiter would do the job. Forget electric knives.
Any clean scimitar works great
I first thought you meant a full Scimitar sword, and I was thinking that would be such a power move in front of your family/mates.
I think they do. Scimitar is the sword, cimiter is the knife.
This is noice
The coles MasterChef big chef knife. Insanely good. Slices through my pork like butter.
