Don't know if this is considered a deal but it was for me and is available for kids up to 17 years old on balances up to $5000.
I've got 2 kids under 10 and we previously had 2 savings accounts with Endeavour Mutual Bank as the interest rate used to be around 3% until recently when I found out it is now 1%…So I started researching and found the Youth eSaver Account at CUA which is 2.75%pa.
I applied online for my eldest son and it was setup the next business day. I found out that it was best to wait until my account was active and then apply for my youngest. Note that I had to say I was a new customer and then during the application there was an option to put in my member number. That too was setup the following business day.
So after activating my accounts the welcome message said if I transfer money into my main account I would get a $10 bonus. So I did that and once again received it the next business day. It also mentioned that after your first purchase (I used Apple Pay before I even got my card) you get an additional $10. Once that cleared I also received the bonus.
I asked them if they had a referral system but they don't so I just wanted to let my fellow OzBargain members know about this great deal.
The online experience was great and the app is heaps better than Endeavour.
We've closed more than 1/2 dozen bank accounts this year and will close the rest except for one in a couple of months. The APY that legacy banks offer nowadays is a joke and the rest of their services are slowly being matched by fintech.
