  • Anyone know where to buy the rubber pad for trolley jack and axle stands in Melbourne? I am now scared of touching my trolley jack without the rubber pad as it might not good for the car. Thanks!

    • surely an offcut of a doormat, floormat etc would be fine
      or is it a showcar?
      .

      • It would not work properly like the rubber pad I think. I am just doing some minor jobs with them and they require jacking up.

You can try putting wood block on your jack, my jack came with rubber pad but i still add wood to it.
I can understand why you might need rubber pads for stands have bent the jack points on one side of my car, however after repeated use over many years i now know the key here is lowering your jack very slowly for that you don't need to overtight the valve at first place and lose it slowly and carefully. Might look hard to do but very easy to practice safely, just try lifting and lowering your car a few times without any stands and you will learn a lot about the whole process, practice is the key here.

  • Pretty heavy at 42kg. I wish Costco still sold the aluminium Arcan jacks

    • they don't now?

      • I haven't seen them at my local Costco (Casula) for ages. Even the steel ones that they switched to seem to not be stocked there anymore.

I waited for deal on this jack, eventually bought cheaper from eBay which is even lower and lighter than this around 20KG. Very happy with the purchase tried on sedans as well as SUVs, very versatile. As always no jack is safe enough regardless of who is selling, on its own you need these for lifting only and use stands to support the weight and still put jack as backup, put wheels under car as backup to backup(if you need to remove them)

    • It’s probably not independently certified as meeting Australian Standards

  • Great jack - just low enough to jack up the front/rear of my lowered Aurion (only ~1" drop though so it won't fit under a lot of lowered cars).

The jacking pad is slightly angled though (I've only noticed this recently, <1 year old). May take it back under warranty if it gets much worse.

Bunnings is selling low profile Stanley jack 1600kg for $65 only. It might be a better value than this if you are only using for Sedan and smaller car. Like other said never rely on jack only, always use stand.

      Good deal mate, cheers.

  • I bought this about a year ago for $180ish. Great jack, heavy so stays on the floor. Built well, not a toy like their cheaper jacks.
