"The Fujifilm XF 27mm f2.8 lens provides a 55.5° angle of view. This lens offers a maximum aperture of f/2.8 and is effective in low light situations and able to create a shallow depth of field. The lens stops down to f/16 in 1/3 EV stops. Fast and precise autofocus is provided by a built-in, high-torque DC coreless motor and its single metal lens ring offers accurate manual focus capability. An aspherical lens element minimizes aberrations for sharp overall imaging and its 7 rounded-blade diaphragm brings with it a pleasing out-of-focus area. Fujinon's HT-EBC lens coating reduces reflections at a wider wavelength and minimizes flares and ghosting. Its minimum focus distance is 34 cm.

A compact and lightweight "pancake" lens which is ideal as an everyday prime lens and is suitable Fujifilm X-series mirrorless cameras. This compact lens offers a built-in high-torque DC coreless motor provides fast and accurate autofocus as well as Fujinon's HT-EBC lens coating minimizes flares and ghosting."

This lens has always been sub 200. Not a great lens but good for a compact setup.

yeah this is normally the cheapest option for a 2nd lens after lens kit . Wouldnt pay over 200 for it but

    • Yeah you'd have to be pretty dumb to pay $600 for such a basic lens

Bought this from teds couple of years ago for $99 after cashback. good lens for walk around with smaller cameras in my case with X-E3

    • Got mine from that deal too. Wouldn't pay this much for it

Sold for $75 with cashbacks 2 years ago. Seems like a rip off now.
Probably bumped up now so when the new 27mm comes out next year it won't seem too expensive for over $600.

  • yes, it has been $200 or $250 with cashback.

  • 150 was a pretty standard price back a few years ago. Better wait for a discounted 35 or 23 in my opinion

  • At this size and price it looks like a bargain. This will be good in 99% of situations, especially when people are involved. I just don't know if Fuji is worth it however. I know they used to be the biggest name in SLRs, but that was way back in the day, so are they as good now? Is the post-purchase service etc. reliable?

    • I bought this lens a long time ago from Teds.
Had a bad copy and Fuji tried fixing it and when that didn't work, replaced it for a new one. No problems with support.

However, I don't think it's worth it at this price.

  • Unfortunately no one's got a time machine (that we know of) and whilst this isn't a great price compared to over a year ago, Fuji lenses post-Covid have been stupid high. Hopefully this is a sign that they're coming back to earth. It wasn't strange to see this one at $600+ for Australian stock

digidirect and ryda are shameless. This lens has been cheaper without deals. if you talk about cashback deals then i got this one for 59 bucks.

  • Next gen is coming in few months.

  • I got mine from Ted's for around $79 with the cashback stacking few years ago.

It's a very portable lens, however the AF is slow and noisy. At that shallow DOF, it makes it hard to utilise the full F2.8.

  • Great lens for food bloggers!
