I’m just here to see what the last letter is on “free shi”

    • +1

      :) Corrected

      • Aaahh.. I was so sure it would be a ‘t’

        • Fortunately, you were wrong 🙂

    • dude GREAT profile icon

      • Haha.. I try

  • Can u use this in Australia as this is not released here yet?

    • +1

It is released as Cam Plus model in Australia, available at Bunnings in $599.

      • Do they sell the cams individually?

        • +1

Yes, you can buy Cams individually and add to the same Home Base. As I read online, 12 Cams can be added to one home base.

  • Camera model is the latest ? Or the old one ?

    • Its the latest model at present as per all the reviews.

  • Is this the model that drops support for the original homebase with the inbuilt battery backup?

    • As I read from the reviews and comparisons, Cam 2 does support original home base. But the home base included in Cam 2 or Plus models doesn't have built-in battery back up. Thats the only difference I am able to identify from comparisons. There is so much confusion on model naming convention i.e. Cam 2, Cam 2 Pro and Cam Plus. Nevertheless, I don't care about the battery back-up, so bought this one as saving is significant compared to same model being sold in $599 at Bunnings.

  • Any idea how long it'll take to get here?

    • All my Tobydeals orders in past were delivered in 5-6 working days with tracking. So hope it gets delivered before Christmas.

  • I’ve seen people raising concerns about other China based monitoring products like those from HikVision, and just wonder if there are similar discussions about EufyCam, which seem to have very positive reviews.

I’ve been on the market for awhile and unfortunately the good non-Chinese ones are just too expensive.

    https://www.channelnews.com.au/why-buy-a-security-camera-lik…

    • Yes, I have spent some time as well, and found these the best among what is available at present. So pulled the trigger and bought.

    • sigh that article sure draws a lot of long bows… Anker's HQ is pretty close to Wuhan… y'know, COVID-19, so… so… so… communists! Argh.

In all honesty, unless you work in upper levels of government or for a private company and regularly work on valuable IP at home in full view of a security camera, I doubt that it's of any consequence that China maybe, probably can spy on you.

      • Agreed. At times, these issues are blown out of proportion.

I bought these from Bunnings with the Homebase 2 a couple of months ago for $569 (with powerpass discount). These also came with free door sensor.
After using Arlo Ultra for a year I quite like the Eufy. My main criticism is video is seems over compressed with reduces quality a bit and also the field of view is a lot less than Arlo.
App works well and more reliably that Arlo one. Battery life way better that Arlo.
I also bought the 2k doorbell for around $220 which works really well.

    • Agree with the couple of shortfalls you have mentioned, but still these seem to be the best cams available right now.

    • +1

Can you still get it at that price with powerpass?

      • i think so

  • +1

Each add on camera is $269 at Bunnings BUT if you purchase another one of these you are getting 2 cameras for $387 plus you have an extra homebase. Is the power plug for this not the standard AU plug?

    • Yes, thats a better option. As for the power plug, since its overseas model, I am sure it won't have AU plug, but since its only for home base, so you can always use an adopter. Cams can be charged via a normal USB cable.

Toby also has the Eufy Indoor Cam 2K Pan and Tilt Home Security Camera System for $79 which is a great price. These powered wireless 2k camera's are very good but I think the Reolink alternative with zoom is slightly better.

    • +3

As per user reviews, Reolink has motion detection issues. It records flying leaves, bugs and moving trees as well even with motion detection sensitivity reduced to the lowest. Thats why I chose these over Reolink, despite Reolink being cheaper.

Thanks got one! My Eufy Cam Plus from Bunnings dropped from ceiling and broke (due to my own error) was looking to replace but all the replacements are Eufy Cam and cost $269. I believe this one is Eufy Cam 2 Pro which is 2k resolution, whereas Bunnings Eufy Cam Plus is Eufy Cam 2 (1080p) so fingers crossed it will still work since not released here yet.

Just a heads up for consideration in terms of warranty.

Mid this year, I bought the Eufy 2C camera deal from Supercheap Auto and have recently started experiencing issues. So went through Eufylife / Anker Direct to troubleshoot. No issues with their customer service there - prompt replies and very understanding.

However, it was only then that I was informed that Supercheap Auto is NOT an authorised reseller and hence for any warranty claims, I need to go back to SCA themselves. Not saying that there's any issues with SCA now (I have just dropped off my faulty unit to SCA store here yesterday so waiting for a response).

So I am not sure how this will be handled with an online store like TobyDeals?

    • Agreed. But thats a trade-in for the price difference i.e. you take this risk for the savings you can have.

    • What issues are you experiencing?

    • I found I don't get all alerts on mobile app.

      • Try to update firmware, and if nothing works, do a hard reset.

  • +1

The bunnings model is an older model to Tobydeals.

The 2 Pro has 2K resolution.
The 2 Plus is the updated sensor from the 2 but 1080P resolution.

Tempted to purchase this but I have the 2C already. Early reviews on the 2 Pro is that the video quality is not much better due to the compression of the video files. Not sure whether Eufy has done any changes since then. But I would go with the 2 Pro to be more future proof should they fix the recording compression.

    • Compresson issue seem to be Firmware related, so I hope they fix it with future updates.

  • Great price! Thanks OP.

  • Would officeworks pricematch this? anyone know?

    • No, they don't. Also this is overseas model, not released in Aus, so no chance.

      • I'd had to ask.. I thought they started matching grey import phones thus other tech like this.
        Thanks

        • They may match, but this model isn't same as being sold in Aus, so no chance for price match. No harm in trying though.

It is also available on TecoBuy for $384, but they charge postage.

    • Wow that seems odd. My order has apparently dispatched so hopefully it’ll still arrive =S

Note that you can track your item via Tolls tracking using the same number from DPEX number.

  • Received mine today. And I can confirm it works with my exisiting Eufycam Plus system in Bunnings. Even better because it's 2k vs 1080p.

  • I received mine today as well. Haven't had time to configure but will do it tomorrow and update.

  • Yep received mine today as well. Working flawlessly

  • I’m encouraged many of you have received your order from tobys. My order was on the 15th so possibly a day or two behind but to date my order stil says “processsing” so not even “dispatched”.

I wonder if others have had the same experience. I’ve emailed Tobys a little concerned knowing this model simply isn’t available in the 2k anywhere in Oz. No problems grey import but wondering if maybe eufy aren’t all that keen on this idea and have put a stop to the cheaper import. We continue to get screwed on price down under. Congrats those that got in early.

  • Great Now looks like Toby’s have closed shop “fantastic “ $400 out of our account and no product. Will wait and see on email but given I used PayPal for transaction could be calling them for a refund.
