Not bad although I read the save from the ps4 version won't transfer to the ps5 version.

  • I think you have to buy it from PS to get the free upgrade, as per your link.

    • You get digital upgrade from disc version, but save wont be transfer. So I think ps5 price will drop soon.

I don't get it. Why are they restriciting save transfers between PS4 to PS5 (and vice versa, if applicable).

It's physical and digital to receive the free upgrade. When I posted this deal a few weeks ago I found this:

To clarify, physical owners of Yakuza: Like a Dragon on PS4 can also use the original disc to upgrade to the PS5 version when it releases on March 2, 2021

Save data will not be transferable between the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game.

Game is excellent, various WTF laugh out loud moments. Takes the piss out of RPGs. The combat is great if you know how to play…. It's turn based but you shouldn't play turn based. You need to work as a team and you will dominate the enemies with free turns and the combat turns fluid. That's the secret. The greatest Summons in a video game dare I say…. Poundmates… Furiously swipe your credit card and you summon a pound mate… Yeah they went there. Love this game

Could you please elaborate on this?

Been a long time fan of the franchise and have play 0 through to 6. But with this, initially only got up to chapter 3 before I put it down due to being bored of the new style of play. However, after reading your comment, I've persisted and just finished the boss fight in chapter 4, I'm interested again, but want to play it better and wondering what you meant.

Any other tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

Play as fast as possible if you plan to use basic attacks instead of specials and group your team around one enemy. The aim is to keep an enemy on the ground. Your team will auto attack if an enemy is on the ground next to them and it will not cost a turn.

Basically if you keep an enemy on the ground and your team is close together you will keep getting free hits and the enemy will be powerless.

This works once, then the team member has thier turn. It's a helpful strategy when you are dealing with a boss. Kill the underlings first then knock the boss down and keep him knocked down if possible.

You can use specials to knock down enemies and the team will hit if they are within range then have your team member will have thier turn.

Keep aiming to keep them down to keep the enemy down. The faster you pull attacks the more helpless the enemies are if they are knocked down.

Basically you will start to notice and perfect this by working on Punklings and those weird lubed up guys in the earliest parts of the game.

Do the part time hero quests because that's going to be a consistent source of income until you play the management game.

Money is hard to get in this game, but Itchiban is a resourceful fellow.

The game starts probably Ch 5 onwards. Things get the usual Yakuza conspiracy level crazy. By then you start getting some hilarious Summons. Visit the homeless camp and search the river bank near your house to find a very useful crayfish. Complete the substory.

Grind and do side stories. Get as many pound mates as possible.

Do not underestimate Saeko. You will come to understand.
Don't put too much cash into Namba. initially. Spend time on Itchiban if he dies you die. Use the ATM frequently. Level up the cop and spend money on him.

Talk to your team as much as possible to level up the bond between them. You get team up specials this way.

It's way better than Judgement. I feel it's slightly better than Yazuka 6.

Enjoy the game, love it so far.

        • Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed explanation, it has helped me immensely!

What I was doing wrong was taking my time as it's turned based, I thought the enemies will not attack while it's my turn so I had time to plan. The order I chose was the weakest first, but this often meant the enemies furthest away, and I would wait until I had line of sight before I attacked, as I didn't want any other enemies blocking me and essential waste a move.

With your advice, I'm now attacking faster and picking enemies closest to the character whose turn is next, so I get the combo attack and the next character is ready to attack while the enemy is still on the ground.

I no longer fear/avoid the street thugs, so being in more fights means faster leveling up too!

Thanks for the ATM and poundmate suggestions, they have also helped, I've found Nancy! ;)

          Hooked on it now.
