Has anyone sold anything to Cash Converters? I've got an OEM PC from 2012 that I would like to get rid of and a few other bits and pieces. I couldn't be bothered in dealing with ScumTree, so I thought why not Cash Converters!

You wish they'd offer $20 for a 2012 PC.
-$20 more like it.
Better to do an ebay auction
Cash convertors will give you 1/3 of the market price aka the price on gumtree.
But will they then open their cash register and say 'sorry, I've only got1/3 of that amount on me, will you accept that?' like the people on gumtree?
This does my head in from Scumtree users… talk, send photos, send all the info, haggle out a price, wait half a day for them to actually turn up… “oh, sorry mate, couldn’t get to the bank, I only have *1/3rd of haggled amount* on me at the moment… would you take that?” and when you say no, it’s always, “oh, I’ll ask my mate if he has enough to cover it…”
I never haggle until they physically see the item.
I almost sold my 20 part series of "Boxers" VHS videos, but they only offered $2.50 per video.. I was trying to get enough $$ to buy a new PS1 dualshock controller.
That's actually a pretty good deal. Cash Converters is always overloaded with tapes, discs, and garden equipment that ultimately no one wants.
Just put it up both on Gumtree and eBay.
More appropriate to put it up in front of the house for the council garbage collection! lol. It's not worth dealing with them scummy bogan buyers for that money.
Yeah, this. Remember that your time is also worth quite a bit (assuming that you have a job) … probably more than you will ultimately gain by trying to sell this pre-historic apparatus for 'actual cash-money', in the long run …
The only time you should sell to cash converters if it will go to the garbage dump otherwise. Something is better than nothing.
OR, you could give it to someone who might need it, but could not afford to buy it from 'Cashies' … In your case, someone who has nothing.
I buy a laptop for kids at my son's school that can't afford them (as in one laptop per year for any kid that can't, usually an Acer Nitro). I wouldn't give this to them. I'm more inclined to see what it's like selling to Cash Converters as a once in a life time experience.

You realise you can fulfil this dream of yours yourself. Theres no penalty to walk instore and ask them how much they'll offer. Price each store offer may differ, depending on a number of factors.
Cashies are in it to make some money so their offers would be really low. More chance to get a better offer from Gumtree or FB marketplace. You'll still get a better price than Cashies either way.
Not really looking to make cash, just wondering what it's like.
They give you the lowest possible price for anything so no it is not really worth your time
Jeez brings back memories got like $1 per VHS tape just as they were getting killed off, used to go there and get games as my PC was a bit older
CC makes majority of its money through loans, not selling goods
CC may give you $30 at most for the whole deal. If you can't be bothered, you could place the items in the recycle bins at Bunnings.
Where I live Bunnings is across from Cash Converters.
is it a 2nd or 3rd gen PC ? try FB market place.
They're going to rip you off as what cashies will but you could take it to Cex and see what they offer. They mostly do games and dvds. They told me to bring in almost any electronics. I brought in a bunch of crap and they took most of it. I took a old i3/4gb ram laptop in and they offered me more than I was (unsuccessfully) trying to sell it on Facebook.
They have a website, webuy.com
Can't hurt trying if there's one near you.
CEX are more likely to give you credit than any sort of decent cash return.
They're also more alert to market prices (less bargains) for their stock than CCs too.
Crime Converters will scam you… as others have said - ebay
Seriously, this 'product' is now so outdated that the only realistic option would be to give it away to someone who might be able to use it in some sort of minor capacity. Cashies would not even 'buy' it for $1, because it would simply occupy 'real-estate' on their shelves, and never be sold.
You could go buy a new Ipad and take it directly to them and they'd give you nothing for it.
Mate seriously, just put it on the kerb with a ‘free - works but slow AF’ sign on it and hope it would be gone sooner rather than later.
They will offer $20. Be prepared.
