Haha apologies for laughing but I just complained to Amazon about it today!
They also said above "covid" is the reason why its late, but every pre-order I get from them is late since pre-covid.I'm actually from the middle of Sydney but I find people outside get it earlier, they actually haven't even sent it out yet, but was confirmed its waiting at the "fullfillment centre" and I should get it in the next few business days if that helps for you.
Honestly it doesn't bother me that much, Amazon has been sooooo bad lately that I pre-ordered from JB Hifi and got it day 1, and I'm only keeping the amazon copy as it was cheaper due to their guarantee thing and I want to give it to my brother as a Christmas present.
But as others said, Amazon is a complete joke in pre-orders and I would pay the extra $5 or $10 if I was hoping to play day 1 for any other store. Hell even non-pre order sponge bob took a whole week before it was "ready for delivery". Makes me wonder why I bother with prime.
Don't stress too much, at least if it's late there will be some patches for all the bugs :P

I'm in the same boat, pre-ordered and still hasnt shipped. While annoying, I've still got plenty of games to finish before I get stuck into this so the delay is welcome in a way.
Normally Amazon have been excellent though, I had the new Watchdogs game delivered a day before release and all other games I've pre-ordered have arrived on the day of release.

My preorder was “Out For Delivery” this morning, then later changed to “Delay in delivery due to external factors”. Utter bs.
My son received it from Gerry yesterday @9am. Express Post.

Day two patch fixed some issues but not all.
I've played about 8 hours so far. Only encountered a bunch of minor bugs nothing game breaking so far.
Same as Gamesmen @ eBay. Though, hopefully the delay makes the experience better with updates.

I am thinking of cancel the order and get it from JB hifi/HN,
or I might wait for it to be delivered, then I can display my disappointment on feedback
either way, definitely it is time to cancel my primeLike you I was in Amazon preorder limbo. You might not want to hear this but I got my delivery date and it's Friday 18th. Understandably it is close to Christmas but finding out non-preorder are getting shipped days ahead… speechless. It's not fair.
Update. Game arrived much earlier than the delivery date. Must of been a glitch in the system. Unfortunately ruffled my feathers.
Here is the worst thing, if you order it again it will arrive before your preorder.
I spent about 20 minutes with Amazon chat yesterday trying to understand how a brand new order would arrive before my preorder from over a year ago.
Of course none of them could explain it, they just kept giving me the standard form "it's shipping and supply issues due to Covid" every time I said that clearly isn't a problem because I can order it again right now for delivery tomorrow, they would disconnect from me.
I placed a second order, and will return the preorder for the new order to get my money refunded.
Amazon is a joke with preorders and I will never preorder from them again. It's not worth saving a few dollars when they're completely incompetent with them.
