Cost of Puppy Vaccinations in Perth

Hi All,

I am about to get a puppy. She has had her first puppy C3 vaccination and the breeder has already microchipped her. She needs another two C5 vaccination between 10 and 16 weeks before she is allowed to go to parks.

I have created this thread to share my findings on the cost of C5 vaccinations in the Perth area. I called 9 vets around Nedlands and Bull Creek area. Please let me know if there are any I should add to the list and also if any vet is particularly bad.

Here are my findings in order of most to least expensive:
- Shelly Vet $139.50 for second shot and $131 for third shot
- The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University: $135.95 for a standard consultation and Protech C3 + Pi2 + BBOral last month (Thanks Hanx)
- Dalkeith Vet $135
- Ranford Vet $135
- Swanbourne Vet $131 per vaccine on weekdays (more on weekends)
- Sai Vet $110
- Paws and More Vet $110 (or $85 if going for C3 vaccination which does not include kennel cough coverage)
- Canning Vale Vet $99
- Sage Vet $195 for two (this one was weird because could do C5 or some alternate vaccine that only needed 2 shots instead of the usual 3?)
- Greencross Vet Nedlands $95 (or use current City farmers nexgard spectra promotion to get $20 voucher which reduces it to $75)

Hope this can help someone :) Merry Christmas!

A bit of variation there. Good research.

My vet charges $70 and on a Thursday will even visit our house for no extra charge.

Advantage of living in a regional town I guess.

    • Thanks, may I know which town you're in? I work in a regional town but our closest vet is 1hr away in Pinjarra

      • I'm in Victoria

I'm in regional Vic, closest Vet is 40mins away, and they charged me $170 for 2 dogs for their C5 shots last week.

Sounds like I need to leave fortress WA and move to regional Vic!

You may also want to consider the NexGard SPECTRA® Vaccination Promotion, i.e., buy a NexGard SPECTRA® 6 pack at Petbarn or City Farmers and receive $20 off your eligible pet’s next vaccination at any Greencross Vets clinic from 17/11/2020 to 31/12/2021 subject to appointment availability.

    • Good point!

Greencross + NexGard Spectra may not be the cheapest. NexGard Spectra (15.1-30kg) might cost $98.99. But then Simparica Trio (10.1-20kg) might be only $74.99, i.e., $24 less. Also, the 6 pack could last 6 months, so you're stuck breaking up chewables into smaller portions until your puppy grows into the weight range.

  • Swan Veterinary Hospital
    try them. they're competitive apparently

  • Thanks for the list, I’m an ex-Perthie now living in Brisbane but aiming to move back in a couple of years so good to know if I want a second pupper haha.

I’m assuming those costs are with consultations included because my pup’s shots were $48.20 ($103 total) for his second and $27.65 ($111.15 total) his final shots. Brisbane vet only 2 months ago.

I have heard of the two vaccination schedule before. I think it’s so that the puppy doesn’t miss out on his critical socialisation period, so they can have their last shots earlier before that socialisation period closes.

    • Yes, all quotes include "free puppy consultation and check ups" so I guess overall the prices are comparable to your mentioned total sums. Thanks for your feedback and good luck for your future move!

  • Keep in mind vaccination costs can vary depending on weight of your puppy
