What Microwave to Get

Microwave has packed in after 8 yrs i see this on goodguys with 10% off which has good reviews but when you look up jb hifi and elsewhere there are plenty of bad reviews.

https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/panasonic-27l-flatbed-stainle…

Don't microwave last longer than 12 months these days.
I like the sound of a flatplate not sure what the invertor is? Maybe way it cooks?

It so happens that this is panasonic but want something to last.

Any of you guys own this model and had any issues im also reading this come out 2016. 4 yrs ago you would think they be long out of stock.

Do i buy another panasonic or something else.

It is said panasonic is top of the list when it comes to microwaves. But is this the right model to get.

As I understand it microwaves without inverter have to switch between 100% power and 0% power, so say if you put 2 mins @ 50% power it'll run something like 30 seconds at 100% and then 30 seconds at 0%, 30 seconds 100%, 30 seconds 0% - whatever it needs to do to get your power % and duration. And apparently you can "hear" the microwave switch between power modes if you listen carefully?

An inverter allows it to scale power and apply 50% (or whatever you select) for the full duration.

    LG Neochef

Just need to see the number of deals to see how popular it is

I have one and would vouch for it. Previous microwave was an LG as well and lasted years

Personally I hate the cooldown that the Panasonics do, and have heard mixed reports about their heating ability

    • Got the LG Neochef and love it .

    • What model do you own? seems there are loads of models and is there a website comparing these from best to worst.
Trying to see what or where has deals and if one model is better than another.

      • Without looking I think it's the 42L with the knob on the front .

    • Is this a neochef of different again MS4296OSS

    • What model do you have

      • I can't remember, they're all good though. Just have a look and find the size/price that you want and go for it

        • MS4296OSS having a panasonic for 8 yrs tempted to stick with them, never had an lg.

Im not limited in price or size maybe 42l.

But have no idea current models or older models and if one above is older of the range as can be had for 265.
But then im thinking that might be steep for a microwave. But has i think stainless front and 2 yrs warranty do all microwaves come with 2 year warranty from lg?

Has this one been cheaper than 265?

In fact what's the best price the range of neochef microwaves have been.
Black friday might have been a good time but not always.

          • @bwatt72:

            • You need a microwave
            • Buy a microwave

The cost during Black Friday doesn't mean diddly squat to the price paid today

  • Although, have not used it myself but seen very good reviews of LG Neochef. You could also check on productreview.com.au

    It’s pronounced mee-cro-wah-vay.

  • I have a panasonic flatbed inverter. Has it about 3 years now. It does what I expect it to do, however I'm just defrosting or making porridge, not making souffles or whatever people do with microwaves these days.

bought this based off choice reviews and some good comments here and there. been good to me so far.

  • I've got a variation of this: https://www.kmart.com.au/product/20l-microwave/2341807

Does what it does and has done so for a while. No issues and no wasted time worrying about what it does/doesn't do.
