Ultraboost sizing? Sock tight?

So I bought the ultraboost hype … But can't help but feel I'm missing something.

Followed the Adidas size guide, measured my feet etc and got size 10 US.

Bought it, super uncomfortably tight.
Feels like putting a tight sock on almost.
After foot is in, whole foot feels like me trying to squeeze into clothes from 10 years ago.
Especially around the ankles have to really use a bit of force to get the shoe on.

Tried again and got an 11.5. Not AS bad but still tight.
Not comfortable at all.

Where's the cloud for my feet I was promised?

Reddit search says they loosen over time.
But I'm unsure how much looser … And weather I should go up to a 12.5 (my feet are normally size 10) … hard to guess a size to buy.

Am I missing something here?

I am coming from some ASICS gel something or others (kayanos maybe? not sure) which slipped on and slipped off easily. In addition, the ASICS gave the instant (as soon as you put the foot on) "aaaah" feeling of comfort.

I notice the ultraboost doesn't have the ability to slide on or off easily, as the top of the shoe (the hole where you put your foot in) is one piece.

  • Takes a few wears to break in and get more comfortable, I buy the same size as all my other shoes. Tight at first but they get better, with NMD's you just want them off by the end of the day as your foot starts to swell. Ultraboost and NMD comfort is waaaay overhyped, they aren't that wonderful. Skechers are the most comfortable shoes but a shame they are pretty average in the style department.

    • Damn that's a shame. Luckily Adidas have free returns.
2nd time this couple of months the hype fooled me, first OnePlus and now Adidas.

  • Yeah I went up a half size in nmd and they're still quite a tight fit. I find any of the new shoes with the tongue incorporated as one piece are all tight fitting shoes. My nmd got better after wearing thicker than normal socks with them for a bit then changing back to my normal socks.

    • I see. Maybe this still of shoe just isn't for me. I like being able to get them on and off easily, and having a bit of breathing room for my foot within the shoe.

      • I have some Adidas N-5923 in my normal size 10 and they fit loosely. Shoe sizing is all over the place these days. Except for vans authentics 🤣

        • Hahah but I don't have the skater boy aesthetic :P
Adidas N-5923??? Did Adidas release a gaming PC?

  • I've never had an issue. Size 11US. Nike is about half a size smaller but adidas have always been perfect for me.

  • +1

Try removing the insole. Some people wear UBs without the insoles like how NMDs are.

  • Take the insole out. The boost is comfortable enough.

  • Yeah they take a few wears for them to bed in and become more comfortable. Also, the way the cage tightens around your foot, in general they’re going to be more tighter than other uncaged shoes, which is just the nature of it. I’ve not tried the 19s but the 3.0s and 4.0s do fit looser than the 20s with the 3.0s being the loosest fitting
