      Or use EOP:)

      • Unsure why I was negged, I’ve used EOP for years and haven’t had any issues. Of course, it’s dependant on the age of your electrical wires, what kit you have, etc. In my mates Queenslander, we got 95% of his actual connection in terms of dl/upl, which is pretty good. Way better than wifi.
In mine, we get 110-113 on our 115 connection.
No complaints even with multiple devices connected through a switch.

        • My experience with EOP over 10 or so years is that it is extremely dependant in your house's wiring. My house in Sydney which is sperated into several circuits via RCDs will allow networking only if on same circuit. Across circuits is so slow it is unusable. Before I upgaraded the switch board the EOP worked well anywhere in the house. "leaky"
However, an old house I rented in WA worked briliantly anywhere in house except for one circuit. Don't know the details and it had a series of increasingly bodgy extensions added over the years.
In the end, I had to use a LAN cable from a power point adaptor then along a long corridor to get to one of the rooms in the back extension.

  • what's the difference with the metallic version? Is it worth it to pay more?
    https://www.mwave.com.au/product/tenda-teg1005d-5port-gigabi…

    • for an extra $16 you'll get lightning protection :)

      • ic…so i guess it's worth it…thanks mate! :)

      • you'll get lightning protection :)

so you'll get refunded the difference for lightning deals?

        • plastic one is fine for home use

for work use like on a worksite then get the metal cased one

        • not if you get struck first :P

  • I'm not sure about the quality, I did buy one a year ago, there was an urgency, I did connect it to a customer's system until the replacement switch will arrive, unfortunately, it died earlier :( Hopefully, others have a better experience.

  • It's good, but you need to restart it occasionally, or it will freeze after a couple of weeks. The metal cased one is much better.
