This sounds so dodgy, is this common practice? Would ACCC care?
Yes it is dodgy, I assumed a gift card would essentially be a form of payment at the final stage, rather than overriding a promo. I'll stew on it a bit longer and escalate it if it's worth the time haha
Thanks for letting us know. Was looking to buy to use in conjunction with a promo.
Update: I contacted Dinnerly and they applied a one-off $20 credit to my account which resolves this problem. Dinnerly pointed me to their T&Cs which says that only one voucher can be applied to an order, and what I purchased from Woolworths was effectively a voucher.
Don't make the mistake I did. Dinnerly Gift Cards will override other promos (including a new user promo I was on), which now leaves me worse off by $15 or so for one order.
