  • Had 2 fitbits, both had early battery failure and bricked. Fast refund both times as though they saw it coming. Never again.

Out of curiosity, which versions of the Fitbit did you have?

      • I think the first one was an earlier version of the Charge HR, from catch of the day. Easy refund after sending it in for them to 'inspect' or whatever.

Second one was an inspire HR from amazon, even easier refund and it was after having it for about 3 months or so.

        • I see… I had a similar warranty experience.

I had a Alta HR and the band would break every 6 months. Each time it broke, I took it back to a JB HiFi (not even the same store that I bought it from), and they would happily replace it with a new Alta HR.

During the last 2 years, went through 3 Alta HRs each with the same band issue (silicone breaking away from the plastic clasp), and each broken Fitbit Alta HR was replaced without any question from the JB HiFi team. Alta HR was eventually discontinued, so JB HiFi couldn't replace it. Instead, JB HiFi offered to give me the value (as per my invoice, around $100) as a refund/voucher or put the credit towards a new Fitbit. I chose the latter and chose this Inspire 2 (it was priced around $150-$160) by pay the difference of $50~.

So far, so good. As expected, with a few additional bells and whistles compared to my previous Fitbit Alta HR.

Key take away from my experience of owning Fitbits is that their warranty is nice and easy.

      Yeah over hyped

    • Meh I think that's what makes fitbit good. I've got a versa and I've heard of people having issues with theirs, but what's impressed me is fitbit always has given them replacements. That's good service at least

Any reason to get this over a xiao mi band 5?

    • Still waiting for my mi band 5 to come from HK

      • How long have you been waiting, and who'd you buy it through?

        • Ordered 11/11 from AliExpress HK

    • A few reasons to consider the fitbit:
      * Fitbit typically has a good warranty (see my Alta HR comment/reply above).
      * Fitbit app can be linked to your Qantas Wellbeing app to get some QFF points.
      * If this Fitbit is being sold via Amazon AU, it's likely to be faster than waiting for the Xiaomi to be delivered from overseas (e.g. HK mentioned below).
      * Fitbit UI is quite nice and easy to use.
