I used to like Spudshed back in 2016-17. They raised their prices in late 2018 to be more similar to coles/woolworths and they raised them again sometime in 2019. You can still shop cheaply if you pick and choose what to buy and only buy things that are on sale but they are a shadow of what they used to be price wise, I just can't justify the inferior quality of a lot of the items they sell vs the tiny discount they have compared to buying from Coles/Woolworths. This ice cream deal is not a bad find though OP.

    • I agree their produce is nothing to shout about, it is cheap for a reason. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for.

    • Yeah the pricing is close to what Coles/Woolworths are charging but the quality is far inferior. Now days I just buy my potatoes and onions there, plus whatever else is on sale rather than the whole lot I used to.

Opening so many new stores (16 stores and counting now, they had like 7 in 2016) and running all of them 24/7 costs money, not to mention they brought in more regular grocery lines which are more expensive than Coles / Woolworths rather than just selling the cheap imported or clearance lines like they used to.

Great to have them in the market though in WA, nice to finally have means of buying discounts like this deal that used to be limited to the likes of NQR in VIC.

  • What does it mean by free members?

    • You have to join their loyalty scheme and download the app to get this price.

    • You need to be a member, but it's free.

It's all done via their app:

      • Download the app
      • Sign up for free
      • Show the in-app barcode at the register which when scanned gives you the members' only price

You can also enter your member number in the Stocard app (or equivalent) and use that instead.

(It's "Free Members" as opposed to "Paid Members". Also it's the shortened form of "Free Membership Required". I've updated the deal with the info—thanks for pointing out the possible confusion.)

  • Hmmmm
As they are open 24 hours, I wonder if this pricing is available shortly after midnight. Also wonder if you bought 2 at one location, then went to another location if they’d refuse the sale. I “need”close to 100.

    • I'm pretty sure the prices change shortly after midnight—I'm planning on going tonight 😉

I doubt that their software includes the ability to limit you to only two cartons. (Even if it does, just create another account.)

You should be able to buy four cartons at the one store. Just go through twice at different registers, or bring a friend to be safer.

Can you please report back if you go tonight.

        • Definitely going. Will report back.

          Report:

          1. Prices change at midnight
          2. The software doesn't seem to impose any limit, it's left up to the register operator
          3. Went through the only register open with three cartons without any problems at 00:45 at Ellenbrook
          • @robinCTS: What is the best before date on yours?
Edit: nvm saw it in your later comment. Thanks

            • @wtfnodeal: It's also in the deal 😉

EDIT: And now in the title too!

      • I doubt that would work at 1am, but maybe. Guess you could have a look at the busyness at the time

        • Usually not that busy, so you would need to bring a second body to be safe.

        • It was very quiet at 00:45 when I bought three cartons from the only register open without any issues.

You might be pushing it if you try getting four in a single transaction, but you shouldn't have any problems getting them at two stores, or at two different registers.

If anyone gets a pack, can you please let us know the use by or best before date.

    Thanks

    • Doesn't say if it's Best Before or Use By, but at Ellenbrook the date is 09/2021.

I'll keep the deal updated with more dates when/if people report them.

    Thanks op

  • If possible, see if you can buy one box and try before buying more. I bought some Ben and Jerry's a few years ago. The brownies inside the ice cream were actually burnt.

    • They've been available individually for a few weeks now, and you can still buy just one to try, rather that a whole box, if you want.

I've just had one and the brownie layer is definitely not burnt. It's not the best brownie I've had but it's not too bad.

Saw this in the spudshed app and thought I’ll pop down tomorrow and grab a box.
Then thought… i wonder how long till it gets posted on Ozbargain and if it will sell out…

Now im considering going for a drive to spudshed at 12:30 am for icecream i dont need out of FOMO

    Damn you ozbargain! 😂

    • Thanks. I've updated the deal with the info.

Officially known as Spudshed Stirling 😉

      Same Best Before date?

        6/21

        Ripped off! Haha

  • +1

Jandakot expiry is 6/21 as well. Went around 1230, the back freezer was bottom rows left, but the front freezer was pretty full

    • Updated deal.

  • bentley 6/21
i personally prefer the soy cornettos, but for sub 40c, nothing compares, can't even get 30c cone anymore

    • That one is still $0.99 a box at Jandakot. Is it a box of 4?
