LG Fridge GB-455UPLE- Is The Top Cover Missing?

I bought this fridge today and top of the fridge looks like that https://ibb.co/w7vmL3b. Is that normal? To me it looks like the cover is missing. I have never seen a fridge with the top like that. It's always flat.

    Thanks guys. That's very weird. We put lot of stuffs on top of fridge. So a flat surface would be good.

      I agree it is weird, but probably saved them money.
