  • HDMI 2.0 though, how can they have 120hz 4K but no HDMI 2.1 support… (yes I know DP)

      Well, you answered yourself.

Just a shame there’s no HDMI 2.1 to Display port

        • Definitely - at this price its nuts

        • +1

What's more of a shame is that consoles don't have Display Port…

          • @papachipi: Agreed, was surprised they don’t but at same time, how many use monitors vs TVs?

    • Display port 1.4 can do high refresh rates. But you should really wait for the HDMI 2.1.

27" in case anyone cares about the size of the monitor.

And I know Tom's isn't what it used to be, but: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/viotek-gfi27qxa

I really feel like this is too small for 4k. 30-34" would be better suited. Yes I understand pixel density, but I think having a slightly larger display area will really make a 4k monitor shine, filling your peripheral vision.

      • +1

For peripheral vision, means you need to turn your head to look at parts when you're doing work. I've had this issue on a mates 32" before. Really annoying. >27 only works if you're sitting quite far away.

        • Most people use more than one monitor for work, so they turn their head anyway.
Having a single, larger display can replace the need for multiple monitors and provide the same resolution and a true bezel-less experience which is nice, while sustaining the productivity benefits.

    this looks promising!!

Not worth it at all IMO. Would be average for gaming. Too many cons including a relatively slow panel.

As per https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0w1_zOiWQiE&t=1232s the only 4K monitor worth considering now for gaming would be the LG UltraGear 27GN950-B. While for non-gaming, why pay the premium in the first place over the significantly cheaper 60hz 4k IPS monitors. It seems we're still a few months away from having a good selection of 4k 144hz monitors.

    • This is $500+ more, its also OOS pretty much everywhere.
The ASUS ROG Strix XG27UQ and Acer Predator XB273KS are good alternatives with a higher budget but again mostly out of stock.

  • 27" IPS 4K 144HZ at $1000, perfect gaming monitor and even shipping is faster than dell AU.

  • ASUS PG43UQ is nice

Claims HDR, doesn't specify max brightness.

  • Post has been marked as out of stock, but NewEgg itself still says in stock…?
