On-site warranty is at their determination. They didn't come out for me because they thought it was a rare issue and so didn't feel the need. Sent me around in circles despite telling me that I needed to send the laptop to them for repair.

Your experience may vary, but like with all extra warranties offered in say Harvey Norman or JB, I just decline them.

So what happened in the end?

Not the best 1660ti laptop deal. They have been around the $1500 figure.

      • Sorted out most of the issues myself in the end, but sleep issues still remain on my laptop. 1st and 2nd calls they remoted in, then they said take a video of the issues which I did, and kept claiming they had to escalate the issue to their supervisor to arrange repairs. Yet after that, they still tried to remote in yet again, despite me telling them they had already done all that. I paid extra for one year on-site warranty and that's all I got, the runaround.

Coming back to the laptop, 371,600 points on Qantas Store if anyone wants to go that route. But as others have said, better deals out there for sure.

    • The Predator is an unreal deal and while that is still available is the easy choice. However this is still a lot of laptop for only $1700 with a good cooling system also and is nearly comparable to the predator.

    $2600 for this? Seriously.

    Just FYI ,

Intel now has an 11th generation processor, so I would expect the older stuff to come up at proper clearance prices.

Here is a link to an article about the different processors .

    https://candytech.in/intel-11th-gen-laptop-processors-vs-amd….

According to this article 11th gen intels are good with single core tasks , and the graphics are good. The AMD 4000 chips are best at multi core intensive tasks.

For anyone interested here is a link about the different AMD processors for laptops.

I managed to get the Ryzen version of this with same other specs for $1,650 from speaking to the sales person. Preferred the Ryzen version.

Went with this over the Predator because read some bad reviews on the Predator that it's not as good as last year's model and the stack up with this was pretty good. Only thing I hesitated on was the Graphics card but I'm not heavy into gaming - just playing basic games on steam. So the downgrade from 2060 to the 1660 ti was worth it for a better processor.

that's a great price and if you have the Amex offer, even better!!

it was only a few weeks ago that this was on offer on the Lenovo Education Store for $1691 delivered I believe..

    • Nice, did you just send them a message through the website?

      • Yeah correct. Then got a quote. Then logged off…went in via shopback and got the shopback after adding to cart - whether it actually goes through is anyone's guess. But got the e-mail saying $230 cashback & then if they ship on time - should get the Amex cashback as well. But have to wait until it actually hits the account haha.

    • Well done. Happy to have held off on this (older Intel, 60Hz, 256GB combi Etc). Will continue monitoring in coming months lol

    • Hi there — just wondering when you ordered this and when you received it. I'm interested in the same model but unfortunately the wait time is sitting at 8+ weeks for the Ryzens at the moment.

      • I ordered with the 8+ weeks but just got update that planning to get it in by 28th December. I ordered on 30th Nov…so not awful. Not immediate but I wasn't in a huge rush. My 7 year old Qosmio is still plugging away haha - It can go 3-4 weeks.

        • Update - shipped and should be getting tomorrow - so ordered 30th Nov - should be getting it by 18th December. So not bad.
