You can now get this special version for Red Dead Online so you can play online without owning the main game with the single player story.

Of course, if you want to play online on PlayStation or XBox you need the usual subscriptions.

The new standalone version of Red Dead Online will require up to 123GB of disk space and will also include the option to unlock Red Dead Redemption 2: Story Mode (purchased separately).

    If you check the story mode is an ‘addon’ which isnt included. I should have checked before purchase, now requesting refund from MS. OP should take this down.

      Oh man you obviously did not read the game product description before purchase. How hard is it to see this?.

      "Includes Red Dead Online. Red Dead Redemption 2: Story Mode must be purchased separately."

      It just goes to show very few people actually read the description of what they are about to purchase given by the manufacturer. Don't go by blindly by what the Ozbargain thread deal title is saying.

    I already put a report in about the false deal title on Ozbargain. Don't be fooled. Red Dead Redemption 2 does not come with this.

    It's only the darn online multiplayer.

        It was still saying that it includes Red Dead Redemption 2. Which it does not.

        The full version of Red Dead Redemption 2 is completely separate which is currently going for $89.95.

        Red Dead Redemption 2 is the whole main game. You ain't going to be getting that with this. You only get a digital right to unlock the online mode even but it makes you download the whole Red Dead Redemption 2 game files. This is all about digital purchase rights. As if you'll be able to currently play the whole Red Dead Redemption 2 for $7.49.

    It's badly worded and some people may confuse it to be thinking that Red Dead Online has every thing that Read Dead Redemption 2 has. No sir it does not.

    It means that the online part of the Red Dead Redemption 2 game is identical to what comes with Red Dead Online. It's online only. That's all it's saying.

    So don't confuse it. You don't get the full Red Dead Redemption 2 game content with this as in both online and single player missions. It's the online mode only and that's it.
