It is mainly carton damage. Check the details on the site. Also includes full warranty
Not quite.
Can i view the product to check for damage? These products are stored in 'non-customer focused' warehouses. The product is packaged in all the manufacturers original packaging & sealed. Due to this, unfortunately we can not view what the cosmetic damage is, nor does the manufacturer notate the exact blemish or level of refurbish with the product.
Having said this however, Panasonic Factory 2nds are of very high quality & to date we haven’t encountered any units with screen damage or dead pixels. For added Quality Control all screens are inspected by our warehouse personnel prior to shipping.
What is a Factory 2nd? The appliance is in perfect working order, it may have a cosmetic blemish, be factory reworked, an ex display model, or just have a 'tiny ding' incurred during transit.
It is a condition of sale that the buyer must be aware that from time to time these may exist. Returns based on marks/scratches/dents or imperfections will not be accepted. No refunds, credits or replacements are offered if you have changed your mind about the ordered products or make an incorrect choice.
Um.
"The product is packaged in all the manufacturers original packaging & sealed. Due to this, unfortunately we can not view what the cosmetic damage is"
but
"For added Quality Control all screens are inspected by our warehouse personnel prior to shipping."
So they can open the box's and see what the "cosmetic damage is"
Exactly. It says "We can't (or won't?) open the box to check the products until you have purchased it." but then tries to provide some assurance that you will not receive a dud.
I've bought a number of panasonic 2nds from 2nds World, an they've all been awesome. Mostly a damaged carton, packing material, or the worst was some sticky residue on a base stand.
Highly recommended.
did you get back the toxocolgy report on what the sticky residue was on the base stand?
I think the $699 Samsung D550 51" 3D FHD Plasma was a better deal, and you can get it brand new in the shops.
I have nothing against factory seconds and would buy them, but this does not seem like that good of a deal. If it had 3D then maybe.
I didn't hear about this deal, can you provide a link?
Maybe you meant it was $799-
nope, he meant this one http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/56882 or http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/57258
That's weird,this didn't come up when i did a search.
That was a bargain.
Wow Topbuy have it for $1,199.95 now.
Cheapest i can find now is $805

I have purchased a 50' Plasma and PVR from here, both were Panasonic factory seconds amd they are fine.
Couldn't find any marks and they come with a 12 month warranty anyway.
Thank you all for your feedback. Just to clarify a few of the points mentioned above:
We pride ourselves on total transparency with all our customers, & work very closely with Panasonic to ensure all Factory 2nd products are of top quality. We (& Panasonic) are only human & once in a blue moon a unit may slip through with a defect. We will take all responsibility to promptly address the problem & swap this unit over. If you receive a unit that doesn’t function as specified, has screen damage, has a dead pixel etc we will swap it over & cover ALL courier costs.
All our Panasonic Factory 2nd products come with full 12 month Panasonic warranty. We can also offer you an Extend Warranty (through a 3rd party) for an additional 3 years at additional cost.
Our Customer Care Centre is staffed 7 days a week & we welcome any questions on (02) 8986 1666, or via the Contact Us form on our website.
C'mon 2nds World,a positive vote would be nice please?
2ndsworld, can you beat the other retailers that are offering the Samsung D550 51" FHD 3D plasma for $699? Your price is higher than a brand new one at JB for example. Many online retailers have sold it for $699 brand new as well.
Hi nuzby, thanks for your post ..unfortunately we cant beat $699 for that model (hats off to any merchants being able to offer customers that great deal!).
Doesn't tell you what's wrong with them. Unless it's some small cosmetic defects or damage it's probably not worth the risk - given that you can bargain down the price of a QC new unit to within $100 of these if you're reasonably skilled at haggling.
