Spot-Free Car Wash with Garden Hose Filter?

I think I have seen one of these around, however haven't really found a spot on item for it, old articles with dead links.

So does anyone know of a filter or some attachment you can attach to your garden hose to get a spot free rinse/link please?

  • An informercial gimmick/snake oil? Keen to know if such as item exists (and works as claimed).

  • I use a $10 trigger garden hose fitting. The type with multiple settings like jet, mist, spray etc. I've found the key to a near spotless rinse, is a good quality cleaning product that has a wax in it, I use bowdens own (https://www.bowdensown.com.au/wax_wash) and then rinse off with the shower function of the garden trigger fitting. The water sheets off the panels leaving little to dry.
You don't need high power to rinse, just something low pressure that will sheet off, and not leave little drops or beads of water.
Hope that helps and makes sense.

    • hi are you able to link?

I'm looking to use this one - would this be sufficient?

also does this fit straight onto the hose? or do I need a separate adapter? first time using an attachment on a garden hose lol

      thanks

Better off drying water off with a microfibre towel. No filter will stop the dust in the air from settling on the water

Dry it with a Bowden's own big green sucker, takes a few mins and no water spots… I don't think the product you describe exists.

  • Commercial products exist for this, not sure about a home style thing

  • com mercial car wash Final Rinse product or just sheet water off with hose with no nozzle..

    Rain water leaves no streaks
After you wash your car pour a couple of buckets of rain water on your car , make sure you get the door handles, fuel filler cap, boot channel, both external rear view mirrors, front grill.
I have rainwater tanks connected to a pump so i just give it a final rinse with rain water.never have to use the chamois except on the inside for the windows

  • Only thing you could do is add a filter to your water connection (Tap) something like this Filter

I am in hard water area, so rinsing a car with tap water leaves white spots.

I had the above linked filter from eBay. Gives 80-90% spotless finish. Was not enough.. had to replace the filter media frequently.

Then used rainwater. too much fuss.

The Green Sucker towel is the answer!!

No more issue. I started the whole spotless rinse thing because I had to use 20x microfibre towels to dry the car. Didn't believe in these towels, but in the end I tried it and it is more than enough (Ford Falcon). Use two if the car is much larger. Been using the one I bought for 3 years now, still good.

    • so what you do is use tap water, then just use the sucker towel?

That's what I do (well, used to do - now I use tank water but same effect).

If you dry it properly with the towel there will be no water spots.
