I'm looking to get a couple laptops for high school kids. 14" and around the $600 mark. Any good deals on at the moment? (29/11/20)

The SSD is also a bit small, but should be okay for yr 7 & 8. For yr11 & 12 you will need to put in a HDD.
THis will be a pretty awful laptop for daily use
the p rocessor is pretty weak but may do for simple school / internet use
14" is a good size for school but the screen resolution at 1366x768 is awful
4gb of ram is soldered in and very low for WIn 10
Good news is there is a free slot so you can get a 2nd dimm and upgrade to 8gb which would be much more useableGiven the screen and cpu I would keep an eye out for a deal on something better
There are occasional deals here for 13/14" with last gen AMD etc and a better screen <=$600

Try Gumtree, you might be able organise a swap if your high school kids are in good condition.

My kids school had a list of laptops - they could only use those makes/models as they ran an image on them… might pay to check first.
