  • Eh, the competition part is already in the forums (where it belongs). So unless you want to call out the actual 'bargain', this post is not very helpful.

    • +1

Not everyone reads the forums, though.

      • +1

        But competitions aren't deals.

However there are deals going on (such as Brink for free and Terraria for $2.50), so it's fine to be posted.

        • Edited the title so the Brink deal stands out more.
          :)

I'm just saying, it was good of him to point it out. I wouldn't have been aware of it otherwise. I know competitions != deals.

        • Thanks Scrimshaw
          :D

        • Brink…the dissappointment that was supposed to supercede counterstrike but came 3 years too late after COD and bf already redefined the MP genre

        • +1

Ah… well… they had good ideas but it just didn't flow together correctly.
Still, at $5.50 how can you say no?
          :P

I thought Brink and Terraria was a bargain?

    • +1

Sure, so perhaps edit the post to focus on Brink and/or Terraria rather than the comp? Also good to add more info like the % saving so people have more information to assess the 'bargain'.

        Done

  • Hmm, I only have 4 games on my wishlist, and I could think of maybe 3 more to add. 10 would be a stretch, though :-\ I want Crysis 2 but Steam don't offer it.

    • Post a link to your wishlist and we'll recommend you some based on what you already want!

      • Actually I only have 3 now: Tropico 4, Rage, and Anno 2070. I had Bioshock 2 on there but ended up buying a physical copy on eBay for $1.95 brand-new from the UK :D Still in the mail.

        • MW3?
          Saints Row? (HIGHLY recommended)
          GTA IV?
          Batman titles
          Call of Duty titles?
Steam has hundred of games, surely you'd like at least 10 of them
          :P

You can sort games by cost to get some idea of expensive titles that might be nice to get. Also, write to EA and tell them how much you hate them.

    • if you dont already have them my picks are:
just remember each of the items in a series counts as a 1 item. ie there are a few fall out games, each game is one.
      skyrim,
      l4dead
      heroes IV
      fallout series (new vagas etc)
      borderlands
call of duty (mw black opps etc)
      portal 2
      civilisation V
      dragon age

      • Nice selection

      • Ah yes, Civ V is one I could add, although I haven't even got around to playing the demo yet. Portal 2 I have, and I hate COD. Tried Dragon Age demo, didn't do anything for me. Never heard of Skyrim. I'll look at the others.

        • Are you into flight sims?
If so check out IL-2 1946. It's the best flight sim I have ever played!
          http://store.steampowered.com/app/15320/

        • OMG Skyrim is HUGE!

im soooo hooked at the moment, in deadric eveything at the moment training up enchanting to 100 so i can put some cool spells on them… not sure what yet though.

man you HAVE to get this game.
only thing that annoys me is leveling NPCs

      • I should also mention that any game on my list needs to meet my system requirements, which is a Core 2 Duo and Geforce 9800GT. This probably rules out some of the newer more graphically intense games.

    • My picks:

      Fable III
      The Witcher 2
      Might & Magic ® Heroes ® VI
      Dungeon Siege III
Dead Rising 2: Off the Record
      Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine
      Batman: Arkham City™
      The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
      RAGE
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Doubt I'd actually play them all, but certainly some of them I'd play. Basically I just added all the expensive big name titles that I'd never pay full price for.

      • I was a bit let down by the dungeon siege 3 demo… the old ones played heaps better, they tried to do it on a new engine but its not that type of game, felt it was a bit of a fail.

        • Yeah, I watched someone playing the demo on youtube and realised I wouldn't be much interested in it. Still, there's not much else I'd add to my wish list atm that I haven't got already. Maybe Fallout New Vegas actually…

      • Heh, are people actually serious about suggesting COD?

    • crysis 2 was a terrible game dont get it

      • It wasn't a Crysis 1 work of art but I wouldn't go as far to say it was terrible.
Still, its not on steam since EA started Origin.
Shame that Origin hardly ever has any sales… and if they do its usually for the USA only.

        • For me it is less about the sales and more that Origin is just terrible. EA hates you.

        • You are 100% correct. EA DOES hate us and all life on this planet.

    Brink is cheap!
I know someone that paid $100 pre-order price for it but he loves the game, despite its shortcomings.
I guess when you spend so much money on a game you need to justify it and ignore criticism.

  • With Skyrim and Dead Space 2 to keep me occupied i don't think it's worth the time to enter the competition. Might buy Terraria just for the hell of it though

    • Terraria is definitely worth it. Great game (I've played through it at least 3 times now).

      • Has no replay value though. Once you've beaten all the bosses and collected just about every pickaxe, sword, and armor, there's no sense of progression anymore.

        • I don't know about 'no replay value' (as I said, I've played through it at least 3 times), however it's true that there's no repeatable endgame. However, it's $2.50. You'll easily get that much entertainment out of it just from the first playthrough.

        • How about it's fun? As for progression, it's a game how much do you progress in life by playing a game?

If you enjoy it, I can't see why you can't play it more than once.
