Hotspot Range Extended with 3 Android Phones?

We use the main phone as a hotspot but I can't get enough range from house to shed. I've got other android phones can I somehow use another phone to boost the range of hotspot? If so can it be done easily with an app or something?

If you are looking for is something called Wireless Distribution System (WDS). Some router has it (e.g. TP-Link). I haven't seen any phone that can be used like that, with or without app.

    • Can I do this: Android phone hotspot -> router -> other devices?

We need the main phone to keep the sim card for calls etc.

      • It would be cruel for me to ask you what phones you and and what router you have, and giving you false hope. But in the end I'd still say it won't work.

Pick up a wifi extender this weekend. It will do the job you look for. Plug it in a PowerPoint half way between shed and house (closer to shed if you have to )

        • Cheers boss 😀

No - range boosters need 2 wifi radios, one to receive and one to transmit. I haven't seen any phones with this capability.

Buy a dedicated range booster or router that you can plug your phone into.

    • my old samsung galaxy s7 had this feature, the phone featured 4x4 mimo wifi; i could connect to a wifi network and share it to other wifi devices.

Unsure if it's still a standard feature of samsung phones, or whether it disappeared like the many (sometimes gimmicky) features over the years.
