Early this year my partner purchased RayBan sunglasses from Myer online and they were dropshipped directly from China. I had some concerns if these were genuine if they were being sent directly from China but thought Myer wouldn't possibly use counterfeit products.
This week I bought myself a pair of Oakley sunglasses also from Myer online and again they are being sent directly from China via DHL.
Are these genuine items or is Myer pulling a swifty?

Luxottica is the world's largest sunglasses manufacturer. I think close to 98% of all sunglasses are manufactured by the Italian group. It makes sense that it was sent from Luxottica.

What about the cheap sunnies on AliExpress. Surely they're not made by Luxottica.
And Oakley is made in China by Luxottica, so it makes sense.
Dropshipping was their original online business strategy, I didn’t know they still did it.
I like to think they are buying genuine items in a market with good wholesale pricing, but how does a consumer know?
A few years ago Target got done for selling fake MAC cosmetics in store after they didn’t ask enough questions of an international supplier.
So fakes aren’t out of the question.
The reason why your products were shipped from China is, that, Luxottica, which owns the Rayban and Oakley brands, have their warehouses in China.
Myer usually have a Sunglass hut inside them. The Sunglass hut brand is also owned by Luxottica.
Same thing happens when you buy sunglasses from Sunglass Hut online.
I recently purchased a pair of ray ban from Myer. Same thing, shipped from China, and the sunnies are made in China. They came in a Sunglass Hut box, with a Ray Ban box inside it.
I would expect anything sold at Myer to be genuine products;
