Price matching and staff discounts?

My first post- please forgive me if i've done anything wrong!!

On my quest to find out the cheapest price I can get a Kitchenaid Artisan, I've seen both Myer and ES Trading.

Myer are doing it for $749

ES Trading do it for: $669

Myer have told me that they can price match because ES have a physical store, which is good.
However…I have a friend who'll be starting as a Christmas Casual at Myer soon.

Does anyone know if I/She could get the staff discount (10%?) off on top of the matched price?
Because that would make it very good!

Thanks!

  • Pretty sure that doesn't apply. I think if there is a sale then the staff discount is allowed though.

Btw you should check this out: http://www.220-electronics.com/Kitchenaid_Mixer_220_volts/Ki…

Its Australian voltage - However postage may be pricey. I think delivery would be about $70 so you'll save about $130ish? I wanted one but a kitchen aid is way too expensive for me :(

    • oh wow!
Thanks for the heads up! =D

  • +1

No you shouldn't get a staff discount on a price match. Which is a bummer, but thats the way it goes. BTW I believe the discount is 15% on small electricals ( I say shouldn't because sometimes someone makes a mistake)

Might be good to check. Also not sure if you can get discount when you first start. Might have to wait 3 months. Thats howit used to be. Again have them check. If you get 15% off 749, its $636

    • yup you're right there, as coles and myer are the same group and i've worked for one of them and it is a 3 month probation before you get a staff discount.

      • were the same

  • Christmas casuals rarely stay long enough to get staff discount too
